Hi.. As many of you know I am from a large family, 7 still living, and all of us are well into middle age/elderly.. We range from 73, down to 53... 73,72, 71, 69 (dec),66, 56 (me) 53...

Wednesday my younger sister called to let me know that our oldest brother, and our older sister are both in the hospital, one in Utica, NY and one 20 miles away from him in Rome.

DB age 73 has sepsis from an infected gallbladder, which they removed. His health hasn't been the best for the last 3 years or so...

DS, age 71.. who is also my godmother, and possibly my favorite human being on earth, has a perforated bowel, probably as a result of ongoing cancer treatment. She has been treated for retroperinoneal cancer for the past year. at one point it looked like remission, now its looking like the most recent course of chemo has done NOTHING.

I'm 250 miles away.. and CAN'T go to them, because I am sick with pneumonia. I'm just barely hanging on here taking care of the kidlets. I'm in and out of these weird fever dreams. and just realized I havent eaten since Tuesday.Kathy, I feel so bad for you!  I am so very sorry about db and ds!  It is so very difficult not be close to those you love so very much when they are ill.

Kathy, you must take care of yourself first.  Please do what you must to eat and sleep properly so you can get well because, surely, that is the best way to help db and ds right now.  I bet neither of them would want you ill with worry over them but would want you  caring for yourself so you can get well enough to visit.

Now is the time to reach out for help, Kathy.  Pull your resources in to give yourself a break from the kidlets, or if not, then put them to work!  They would probably love little jobs to help you out and make you feel better.  Also, get some good movies so you can doze while they watch.

Please let us know how you are doing and all my love and energy to you and your family!
i am so sorry you're not well.. and your family is in such poor health...but,

where is your husband?  He needs to make sure you eat!  sorry to be so direct, Kathy.. but you're so giving to others.... someone has to give to you..and he's there...  you run after grandchildren all day..

it's his turn to pay back to you for all your giving..
Kathy, I'm so sorry about you brother and sister's illnesses. Are you able to talk to them by phone? My prayers are with you and your family.

Pneumonia can be so hard on your body. It just knocks you out, as you know. Try to eat a little something, maybe a bit of soup and toast? I hope there is someone there to help you out. You really shouldn't be trying to care for little ones by yourself. You need to REST. If you don't, you may end up in the hospital.
Does your doctor have you on meds?
Take good care of yourself, Sweetie.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Gentle hugs, Nini
Drink plenty of fluids. So sorry about your family and all of these health issues. All of our prayers are with you. The bigger the family the harder it rains. More people to love and worry for. Maybe try some chicken soup? Let us know how things turn out. We are here for you.Yikes Kathy! You are going to fall down if you don't get something into you! Please get the fluids going and chicken soup like Milly said!

So sorry about the illness in your family- you are all in my prayers.
The older we get- the less good news we get...am I right? Darn it just seems like one thing after another!
I'm real sorry to hear about your brother and sister Kathy. I can imagine how hard it is to be so far away right now. I'll pray for their comfort and a speedy recovery. Thinking of you!  Take care.Oh Kathy, I am so sorry.  I hope all of you are feeling much better very soon.(((((((((((((((((((((((((kathy)))))))))))))))))))
I will light a white candle for your family and you tomorrow.
Kathy, I to will remember you and your family in my prayers,
CathyMarie
