Echo | Arthritis Information

Echo is scheduled for today. I am anxious to get it overwith. Not scared anxious just want to know what is going on and why my legs are still swelling up. Congestive Heart Failure does run in my mom's side of family, so that's kind of a concern on the back burner. What I really want though is some answers so I can start the Humera. I am having to many ra issues with being  just on the MTX, Plaq., and Pred. alone. The just are not doing enough and that worries me as far as disease progression.
So if the echo does find an issue with my heart does that mean that any type of biologic is out of the question??  If so what will I have left to take?? I am hopeful someone can shed some light.

I have no light to shed. Just wanted to say Good Luck!

Thanks Joonie.  Had the echo. It was a piece of cake. I know I am probably a little to worried but I was just wandering though if anyone who has had one can tell me what all the colors on the doppler mean? Also what is back flow. I hate it when they are talking to others about the procedure and they don't say anything to you. And if you ask they just give you some answer that really doesn't say anything at all.  I'm sorry you are feeling uneasy due to lack of information. I would rest assured if it was anything super serious they would have given you instructions for what to do immediately. When did they tell you they would call with results? I would think by tomorrow.
My son just had one of these but my husband took him so I have knowledge of what the test involves.
Keep us posted and best of luck that everything is fine and you can get that Humira started!
I think backflow refers to the amount of blood that squeezes back into the chamber once the valve has shut. ( think valve regurgitation). A smallish amt would be incidental, a largish amt would require intervention. I agree though, if they'd seen something serious they would have given you immediate instuctions. I hope all is well and you can start feeling better soon.

My results will come on the 14th and yes I know there is probably nothing whatsoever to worry about but  I am a worry wart.  [QUOTE=mom2threeinaz]Had the echo. It was a piece of cake.
