A new babs | Arthritis Information

 

 

Do you have family that you grew up with that are alcoholics?  You display classic 'enabling'  coupled with denile behavior.

 

Allow me to translate for people unfamiliar with this form of 'life's view'.  An adult with a working life view would have said the following -

 

1)  I want to apologize to Pip for following her around and sniping at every post.  It's childish and I should be able to 'rise above' it but I can't therefore I have to blame her for my bad behavior.

 

2)  I'm finished with the bahaviors exhibited in those threads...because while I said I was going to not do it, I had to immediately go back to 4 threads and post yet another snippy HS-ish reply.  Then I realized I looked like an idiot because I couldn't last 10 minutes in my new 'promise' so I deleted my last pledge.

 

3)  I will not allow her to drag me down to her level or waste my energies negatively in response...because I was losing and realize that my responses did INDEED look childish and that's not how I see myself.

 

4)  I will not engage in it.  She is not worth it...especially since I was losing and THAT doesn't fit in with my view of myself.  I took my toys and went home.

 

5)  This does not mean I will not comment when my opinion is in opposition ot hers (always).... shows while I lost the last match, I seriously can't give up sniping as that is who I am, a seriously messed up victim to this disease.

 

6)  I will return to the poitive, helpful friend that I have been...as long as you agree with me.  If you don't, I'll snipe at you like I've done to others in the past.  You  know, really, I'm a hero in helping defend this board from people demanding that we think about our meds, the politics behind them, the politics of health care etc.  Seriously, some people want us to think all the time.  We can't have that!

 

I think thats a pretty good translation -

 

Babs - you seem to forget you were the one saying 'bring it on' and 'armour up'.  I know, damn brain fog so you can't remember.  Would you like a copy? 

 

So, in the interest in board harmony - leave me alone, stop thumping every thread with 'me too' and only post a thougth out response.  I don't have to agree with what you say, but bullying tactics demand a response and will continue to get one.

I found myself getting angrier.. and with the anger... I felt tension.. and with that.. I missed enjoyment in little things which I feel would have grown to be larger enjoyments..

 

I am looking forward to my vacation in Florida where I can find lots of bright spots in my days!!
