"Faux Social Mrktg:Have Your Cake and Eat It, Too | Arthritis Information
http://pharmamkting.blogspot.com/2009/03/faux-social-marketing-have-your-cake.html
From the blog:
"Pharmaceutical marketers want their cake and eat it too when it comes
to social media marketing. That is, they want to engage in patient
communities but they don't want to hear what some patients have to say
about their products -- it might be an adverse event that they will
have to report to the FDA."
I didn't know they would have to do that, just based on what someone posted.
I didn't realize that they'd have to report adverse reactions to the FDA. I do know it's illegal to have KOL's on boards but we see that all the time.
At least there are standards, no?
I really don't understand how this is marketing tho - it sounds more like the "all Cimzia channel'.

Yes, but it sounds like more 'entertainment' than marketing. I think of marketing as more of batting down objections.

Guess you're right.
So, how is this exactly different from astroturf? Because it has videos?

" The message that Crohnsandme.com wants to convey is precisely what's in the videos."But the blogs not saying it's astroturf. Its saying its marketing. LOL
