i was so pleased to have been introduced to the spoon theory that i shared it with my loved ones.   one reply i got on facebook was 'what on earth!'.   and my pastor's wife replied she wished she had so much free time as me,   somehow she does not understand either.   this is very discouraging......   somehow i have to get passed that the world is never going to understand even dear loved ones.....   WW, I know how you feel.  Here is my peace though, I can only control one person's thoughts... mine.  I can only give others the information, what they do with that is up to them.  Honestly, most never get it.  I believe very few do.  It is only when they live it, do they begin to understand.  You can't let that make you feel bad (them not understanding) because that surely cost you spoons! So true Waddie.
I don't care what anyone around me thinks about me or what they THINK about my RA.  I just can't be bothered about what others think or don't get.
You could spend half of your life explaining this disease and how you feel to the people you know. My dh doesnt care anymore, he will explain it to those who ask but if somebody is rude or obnoxious he just ignores them.perfectly expressed, waddie

thanks.

don't worry on that, wonderwoman.....  i just think it is a metaphor but it puts being limited into perspective.   and yes everyone is dealing with something and many people i would not switch to have their life even if it looks picture perfect usually those are the scariest ones of all!
