I am still trying hard to fully recover from mine. I had 2 surgeries for it in 2008. It had nothing to do with RA, other than my new-since-RA severe allergies to all anti-inflammatories asprirn, ibprophen, cortisone, prednisone, etc. It's a long tough road.

I have an instabilty issue with my shoulders.  I'm double jointed, so it's a genetic problem.  I'm not a huge fan of surgery for a lot of reasons, so I've chosen to treat the problem with PT and cortisone injections.
 
At some point, I am aware that I will need surgery.  It's just not the most pressing thing on my plate right now.
