Ok here I go again. I had a few good pain free days and now bam now mt feet hurt tremendously, shoulders are starting to hurt as well.. Well it's mostly my toes. No shoes are commfortable actually. The tylenol did nothing for the pain. I hesitate to take the narcotic as it really Knocks me out good.
Not sure just how much I can take of this pain with out reaching for the heavy duty drugs.
So what do I  do about the shoes?? Sandels right now are the best. The kind I can just slip off when my feet hurt to much. What I wear now are life strides. Anyone have any good shoe ideas???   Help.
Thanks for listening everyone. I am going to try and get some sleep now
Sorry about your feet hurting so bad. I remember when my hurt no matter what... even if I stayed off of them or anything like the cover pushing them down. It was pure torture!

Maybe crocs? The real crocs that is.

Hope tomorrow is better for you!
Ok I am up after about 1 hour or so of sleep. Omgosh the pain has now traveled to my shoulders and neck as well. Just got out of the shower. Stood there forever with the water as hot as I could stand it. Got out and took some pain meds to see if they help. I really can't afford to miss work tomorrow but if the pain doesn't let up I don't see how I can go in. omgosh this is horrible. I am really sorry that you are suffering like this. My husband has a parrafin oil foot bath for his feet that helps, I use it too as I suffer from fallen arches.
Maybe you need to see your RD for something to help you get through this rough patch. A hot shower does help but my husband said that alternating hot and cool can be better sometimes to get a neck sorted out.
I hope that you feel better soon.

No shoe ideas for you - just wanted to let you know that you're not alone.  My feet/toes tend to be the first indication when something is not right.   Last two weeks have been more pain and it doesn't seem to matter if I wear low heels or high heels.

Hope you're feeling better today!
I will ask my husband where we bought the Parrafin bath, I think it was Walmart when we were in USA. Cost aound .
My husbands physio wears rocket dog shoes and crocs. She recommends them.
Sorry you're hurtin', mom2. Crummy feet here, too.

I wear ugly ol' crocs when mine are acting up. I found some @ a local dollar store of all places that feel almost identical to my 'real' crocs. They were only 4 or 5 bucks, so I went back and picked up several more pairs after tryin' 'em out. (Most of the generics are made out of a more rigid material than these are.)

If ya get a parrafin bath, which do feel really, really good, make sure it's big enough to get a foot in. I bought one and ended up taking it back 'cause it was way too small. Thanks all for the replys. I am definately looking for for the crocs and the parrafin bath.

Feet and shoulders hurting a little less this a.m. and even though I didn't get a whole lot of sleep I am still going to trudge off to work. Darn it where the heck is my prince charming to step in and save the day when I need him??
have a restful and painfree day everyone.

edited because  darnit can't spell this a.m..
mom2threeinaz2009-04-08 05:55:29So sorry you are flaring again! This is not good! Any news with starting the Humira?
Let us know how you are doing.

I wear slippers at work when my feet are killing me.....
Oh, I hope your day gets better!  Take care!

And wear crocs if they help but lord those things hurt my feet!  So I wear uggs slip on loafers.  A few weeks ago I was wearing them up until church and forgot to change them and had to drive home, I had on a skirt, hose, and uggs. :) My feet have been doing better now on Humira--good luck to you!

When my feet were really bad, if I had to wear shoes I wore Lands' End or LL Bean slip-ons (the kind without the back) in wide width.  I also have a couple pair of MBT's which feel wonderful, but they take some time getting used to.  Not sure I would go with those if your feet are really hurting right now - they're about 0/pair.  In addition, I swear by Thorlos level-3 high cushion socks.  It's like wearing pillows on my feet.  They're a biy pricey ( or so a pair), but well worth it.

If you have a script for narcotics, go ahead and take it.  If you let the pain fester out of control it's much, much harder to get it back under control.  Also try soaking your feet in a bucket of cold water or warm water (whichever feels better) with epsom salts or other salt soak.  You could also try some IcyHot on your feet - just put a loose pair of socks on so you don't slip and slide in a minty-fresh path all over the house! That always helped me.

I swear! I have to order mine online as no one locally carries them (in fact I have five pair sitting on my desk that arrived in yesterday's post with the sixth pair on my feet).

I find that Naot sandals provide support and comfort and I appreciate that the cork foot beds can be replaced when necessary. I also like Eurosports clogs for the same reason, plus they have a toe box that allows the forefoot to spread in a natural position while protecting delicate toes from bumps.

It is always a hassle to find well-make, good-fitting shoes with adequate support.
