Hi guys, guess what, spent 3 days in Brisbane walking around with 2 sons, had a great time, visiting 2 specialists for Liam, changing meds for epilepsy and he is having a gastroscopy and endoscopy to rule out bowel inflammmation such as Crohns or Ulcerative colitis, as he has had probs for years in that dept.

The good news is that normally I would never have made the 3 days and especially come home and still have energy, I am so excited, I didn't have any tramal with me and only needed two lots of Advil instead of my daily 6 or 7 Tramal, this is wonderful, I plan in my head which room I am going to clean tomorrow or how long a walk I am going to try.  Please God, let this last.  I hope some more of you have good results

Hugs Janie.
PS  I let hubby have a sleep today while I prepared dinner, woohoooooooo!!!! I am thrilled for you and hope for the very best outcomes for you son.

Cheers! Shug

Janie,

Absolutely amazing, isn't it? Don't be disappointed if you have a few backslides. Best wishes.

It is amazing, isn't it, Lev? It's such a good drug and many of us who have not responded well with others, Rituxan does it for us.

And I agree with your advice to Janie, about back slides. Yep, they happen. I am in a big one right now but even through my high ESR and CRP. The stiffness and pain. I can still feel my Rituxan doing it's job. Even though I am not in a good place right now I am still having small energy bursts I know are the Rituxan. And I am just about to start Round 4 on the 23rd April, so it will probably bring some of my swelling, stiffness and pain down.

I am extremely happy that my RD works as a consultant to the company in AU that make Rituxan. As far as I am concerned, of course, pharma companies need to work with RD's. How else are they going to make effective drugs to help RA patients. I am only too happy to be studied by anyone if it helps further research in anyway.

Like Lev said, Janie...you will have moments when you don't feel as good as now...just realise that it's all part of the process. Stats show with Rituxan that if you have a response the first time somehow that it would be extremely unlikely that it won't work again and again.

I think you've found it, woman, and you so deserve some good stuff.

Now, do remember to pace yourself still, it's easy when you have energy like you haven't for years, to push yourself too hard. It's easy too when you haven't felt this good for so long.

I realised with my first round, that it had kicked in when I found myself telling Neve we were off to the pool on a Saturday afternoon. Suddenly, I realised, my goodness...this must be working. This is not something I can normally do.

The second round, I found myself cleaning my shower and stove...two bits of housework that are impossible for me usually.

So, yeah, do stuff, enjoy but also remember to pace yourself and have some rests too.

This is just so wonderful, Janie. In the two years we have known each other. I have watched you struggle...this is fabulous for you, sweetie.
That's exactly the way it was for me Cordelia.  It was the first week or so of December and I remember I was getting ready to do some Christmas shopping.  As I was getting ready that morning, it struck me that I wasn't stiif or sore...I spent most of the day shopping, even bought some cute shoes for myself

I kept thinking ...geez I have a lot of energy and I'm not hurting....It was definately a light bulb moment

Janie,
