anna_uk2009-04-12 12:31:57there are several on here who use this drink ....... APers  I believe?I've found it very helpful.  Good luck.I used it, my hubby used it - and so does my mom and my FIL.  FIL and mom were on it for OA.  All had swelling drop tremendously.

Research also shows it helps to regulate blood sugar if used at night.  You need to take it about 1 - 1 1/2 hours before bed so you can urinate it out.  It will (eventually) keep you from waking up about 2 hours before your normal wake up time.  For example, I usually wake up at 6:30 am and would find myself waking up at 4:30 - which is when the body dumps insulin to ready you for waking.  Now, I sleep right thru and don't keep waking up.  The bad news is it take about a month for the sugar thing to work regularly.

I haaven't tried that one, but for a while I was drinking a tbs of vinegar and honey in a glass of hot water. It didn't taste so good butI swear it did something to make me feel better.Apple cider vinegar or plain vinegar?

oh hmm I forget. It might have been apple cider vinegar.

Someone I worked with told me about it and I was on a major kick for a while. But that was about 3 years ago. I do remember it helping though.
It did taste pretty gross so I am guessing I used regular. Clear or brown?

Pip
Good question! You jogged my memory. It was brown. So it was apple cider. I also just did some looking online and have seen a few recipies for apple cider.
I didn't ever look it up before, but now that I have there are a lot of testimonials for it. Maybe I should go back to it.
I think its interesting what happened and you felt better on it.

Apple Cider vinegar is another of those wacky things that inside the body becomes alkaline.  Many APers use it to take their bodies more alkaline from acidic because we (some???) of us believe microbes can't live in an alkaline environment.  I had the most acidic diet in the Western World, I'm sure.  Tons of tea, Diet Coke, red meat, orange juice, etc.

Honey is anti-microbial in nature (and probably why you're not supposed to give it to kids under 1).  My SIL just found an organic beekeeper from where I grew up and is going to start sending me his honey because some theories say honey can help repopulate your gut with what you started out with.  Don't know if I believe THAT but do need to get off sugar so what the heck?

This Whole Lemon Olive Oil dring mentioned above does the same thing - takes the body alkaline.  It doesn't have honey in it tho (at least none of the variations I've seen do, so maybe I'll add honey to that as a sweetener.

Anna may think it's not bad to drink ...but I hate lemons.  Only drank it because it worked on inflammation.

Local Honey from the area you live in is great for fighting allergies. My DH has chronic hayfever that we have almost cured from local honey that we buy from a bee farm just outside Belfast.Yeah pip as I was doing some research on the cider vinegar drink I saw that is it considered and "anti fungal" and a lot of people use it to cure candida.

I mean for all I know that's what  I could have.
I have been dx with ra since I was 10 and have never tested positive for anything and I don't have the typical symptoms. They come and go. Most of the time I feel really good. (one of the reasons I refuse medicine)  So if drinking the cider made me feel good, it would only make sense. The only thingthat wouldn't make sense is the very visible damage in my toes and hands.

Ughhh always thinking!
Thanks Sandra - you've given me hope.  I want to put my daughter on honey vs white sugar.  Need to learn how to bake 'healthy'.  LOL

Cah - of course I can't prove this - but what if candida did some of the same things RA did?  I'm pretty sure from my research that it effects some things similarly (AIED and hearing loss and use of Nystatin).  I still think RA is probably mycoplasma AND a disrupted gut but...
Honey is not recommended for children under 1 year old because it often contains botulism spores.  It is mainly composed of fructose and glucose (with a higher fructose component than HF corn syrup). [QUOTE=Pip!]I think its interesting what happened and you felt better on it.  Really?

My Great U doc said the orange juice was part of the reason I had stomach errosions.  Hence it's inclusion on the list.

[QUOTE=Pip!]Really? Apparently he didn't know that...that's the Great U for you.

As for the botulism - true - but what's the reason they don't like to give kids under 1 abx?  Because their unfinished GI tract isn't all set up yet.  ABX can really mess with their future health.  Honey is an natural antimicrobial.

[QUOTE=Pip!]Apparently he didn't know that...that's the Great U for you. Honestly, Pip, you seem like an intelligent girl.  Perhaps you would be well-served by taking some science classes - especially biochemistry.  Most of the crap I see on the web is speculation and conjecture.  Without the basic knowledge of a good science foundation, it's easy to read scientific papers and come up with "facts" that have no basis in reality. Jas, conjecture is all we have in trying to cure these diseases.

Your facts are provided thru Pharma and tainted research.  All I'm guilty of is looking outside the box.

Good luck in finding your cure.

I've had it with a 5 tablespoons of frozen berry juice added with Stevia for sweetening.
