Hey Veenu -

We had a member that did some homeopathy but she no longer posts.  You might run some searches and you should find her posts.

Hugs,

I have used Homeopathic remedies for years of debilitating panic attacks and it worked well for me then ( 20 years ago) and I still use Bach Flowers on occasion.

I see you are going to India and one branch of Homeopathy I have become interested in is Ayurvedic ( sp)  Medicine. Is that what you are looking into? If so, Im sure we would all be interested in your results so if possible, keep in touch.

ETA: Dang it...forgot to ask what Homeopathics you have been taking. Also, you asked in another post about plaquenil. I have been on that combined with sulfasalazine and prednisone ( now 2.5 mgs) for a year with great results. Had no problems with any of the meds but I know some people do. Really worth a try and as someone on another thread mentioned, it is hard to believe any Rheumy would not have you on some damage preventative. It beggars belief!! Please dont worry too much about what the meds MIGHT do, if they work and give you your quality of life back with some minor side effects, it can be worth it. Naturopathy, a mini-tutorial.

Homeopathy and Auyerveda  are 2 differnt things. Homeopthy originally came out of germany and Ayuerveda is ancient Indian way of healing by plants and their extract.  Homeopathy also use plant/ animal extracts.  I did got some results with homeopathy.  For example for dry cough and cold I take belladona 200. Medications come in liquid or pallet forms.  I like liquid and I take it straight in water and drink it.

When I was having problem with hand before doctor could diagnose it homeopath on phone told me it is RA.  Bryonia 30 helped me through.  I didn't miss single day at work.

For Pain magnesium phos in 12X potency is great. It usually come in pill form.
If u want certain help with particular problem ask me and I will try to help.

For nerve related problems or spasms take causticum 200.

Remmeber do not eat or dirink any thing half an hour before or after taking medication.  Donot eat raw onion or garlic.  if it is cooked it is fine.

For most the common ailments for my kids also I give them homeopathy medication and it works.
Lyndee and Spelunker I agree with Shug on the diagnosis and treatment of RA via phone issue.  I also know you MUST use as much caution with homeopathy as conventional drugs, maybe more, because of toxicity and consistency in the manufacturing of the drugs.  Keep in mind how unregulated these drugs are.

That said, if you have a good PCP who will supplement and monitor what's going on, I believe it can add to your treatment.   We are lucky to have choices.
Veenu has mentioned on a very early post that he/she has been to a Rheumy...but I agree, being  d'xed by phone is pretty dodgy!!

As Suzanne mentioned it I was waiting for dx and decided to call back home to get homeopath's view on it.  It was not just one conversation.  My phone bill can tell more
We talked back and forth kept on adjusting medication till it gave me relief.

Just for background info.
When I was having problem with my knees for 2 years.  I tried every doctor wherever I was sent, one doctor said may be it is arthritis and went to PT also but did not give me much relief. I went to India in 2000, saw the homeopath, gave me the medication and told me it is RA.  Truthfully I did not believe him.  But I took the medication faithfully for 3 months as prescribed.  Lo and behold, I had no pain after 1 month.  Well, u tell me, should I believe him or not.  On top of it, he is retired homeopath and family friend. I never got treated by him when I was a kid.  (u can understand what my parents must have thought about his capabilities)

Right now I donot have too much pain every where.  I figured out my problem crops up especially when I start vigorous exercise routine.  I am a full time teacher who does lot of extra curricular activities too.
Well, u tell me, should I believe him or not.
As I said, it is impossible to argue against success. I am thrilled you are doing so well and hope you remain pain free and without damage from RA.

Best wishes, Shug
