See it is not in my head! | Arthritis Information

Ok... so I told my RD about how the last time I was on MTX it made body parts that did not normally hurt, hurt. Like my toes for instance. And I have told others on here about it before too. which some did not believe me.

Well... it is happening again!

Normally my toes do not hurt. They do get stiff, and they do swell, but the hardly ever ever have pain. I cannot even feel my toes most of the time. Only time I have "pain" in my toes is when they get cold from Raynaud's and then I warm them up with hot water.

Since this weekend my toes has been hurting. Not bad, but they have pain.

My wrists even hurt more than they normally do.

Now... it might just be coincidence, which I thought what might have been the problem with me hurting more the last time I was on MTX. Because I started going into my post preggo flare. But man... I stopped hurting when I stopped taking the MTX.

This time I am going to stick with it, and see if the pain just goes away or gets worse.

I am telling you... my toes HARDLY EVER HURT. Feet, yes. Toes, no.

Now my toes have pain.

I just thought I would let ya'll know!

Joonie not being able to feel your toes is not a good thing so maybe the fact that you feel pain means the inflammation is going away with the addition of the MTX.

You've got damage and that pain will always be there unless you have some sort of surgical repair
Hi Joonie,

Sorry to hear it is happening again (weird pain and MTX) but it might not be related to MTX.

I think all of us get weird pains...my shoulders seldom hurt and don't usually get stiff either but this  last week or so I have woken up nearly in tears from shoulder pain. Had sore muscles in my arm pits too. No activities I can think of caused it....

Try to stick with the MTX if you can.. testing showed best results were obtained by the patients on both MTX and Remicade
