ok all I had the echo and will be going to cardiologist today for the follow-up. If my heart is ok then what possible causes are there for the leg swelling which is still happening. Today it is horrible left being the worst and man I gotta say it looks awful and I am getting a little concerned. It does begin to hurt now and am anxious to get to my appointment this pm. to see whats going on. I stopped the Diclofinac  long ago and the Embrel too. I feel like I am going to heck in a hand basket. What the heck it happening to me!!!!!!

Can't spell either
mom2threeinaz2009-04-14 12:15:48M23, you have been check for kidney stuff, right?  Have you eliminated salt?  Hidden salt in prepackaged and restaurant foods as well?  When I have had this issue, it seems like it can fall into a vicious cycle.  Wearing some support hose, limiting my salt and keeping my feet up to get ahead, so to speak, go a long way to helping.  I have had this happen before, then it goes away on its own.  I did think at one point it might be the Enbrel but that never proved out.

I hope you find your answers soon and feel better!  m23 good luck this afternoon. I sure they can get to the bottom of this!Keep us posted! My SIL has a problem with her legs swelling up too but she does not have RA. I can't remember what her condition is...I know she has to wear compression hose. I know the more she is on her feet the more she swells. I hope its something easily rectified for you. I hope it's not biologic related so you can get back on your meds.
How are they treating you at work?
Anxious to hear how the appointment went.
Anxious to hear how the appointment went.
Well the appointment went well in that my heart is apparently normal as it should be for my age. There is some normal age related stuff and mild annular calcification. so Cardio doesn't think my heart has anything to do with the leg swelling, but is sending me for a carotid and arterrial duplex to rule out vein problems, clots.   So...still no answers as to why my legs are swelling up. I can't start the humera until it gets figured out. I am so frustrated. Some good days but many not so good days.

Regarding work it's going. At the end of the year I will be back in my old department and I am concerned that I won't be able to do it.The accomodations that we work out don't change to awfully much. I'll still be doing a lot of travel back and forth to schools and lots of filing.  I wonder what will be next if I can't.
Life was going really gret and then this dog gone RA showed up!!!!!
Please have somebody check your potassium, magnesium and calcium levels.  My moms leg swelled up when she had too much magnesium and her potassium was normal.
