There is no link to the original source of this article (unusual for this site), but I think it pertains to an Australian suit against Merck.
Wow - and again info we won't get in the US because of pre-emption.

I think the sex scandal was anti-depressants?  There are so many, it's hard to keep them straight.... I think VIoxx lawsuits are going on here.

This is old news.  Class action and individual lawsuits are in the works re:  Vioxx.  Has been going on for at least 6 years (maybe a year less, not sure) and will probably stretch out for another couple of years.  Lindy

Vioxx suits are old news, but I believe these details are 'new' news.  Have you heard of this before - sales reps trained to call cardiac risks 'myths'?
But what they're finding in the internal memos department is telling - and should be used to repeal preemption.  JMHO

Part of the lawsuits here in the U.S. are based not only on the drug itself but the lies used in advertising of the med. and lies told by the pharma, sales, advertising, etc. to coverup.  I don't have the backup at my fingertips but I'm sure if you google you can find the basis of the lawsuits.  Lindy
