I was blindly attacked on another board by a couple posters I found out originate from here.  Pip said some of my posts were being twisted to get a different meaning.  If anyone wants to know anything, here is your chance.   I don't know what you're talking about, but if it has to do with blind attacks, Pip would know - she's an expert at twisting things around.  Are you one of her "peeps" included in her "success" rate? I'm clueless too. I don't mean to be rude; but this is the first time I've seen a post from you.....Although it says you've posted 72 times.

Just blow it off. Sometimes people say things and if you just let it go and don't resond.....it quickly goes away. All too often people say smartass stuff just to get a rise out of you. They get off on the conflict.

Just let it go.
Lovie2009-04-19 05:46:48Joe - unfortunately, the forces of evil in here will never respond.  They will lurk in the shadows, and pounce on you (already) to make it all out to be your fault.  My best advice is to not post but lurk and try to find something remotely attached to the forum motto of "you are always alone in AI", as it has stopped being a support group for people with arthritis, and an insane aslyum for medically prescribed, chemically brain fried, formerly great posters, with Hitler-like grandiosity and who want to rule the AI world and are not afraid of Gestapo-like tactics to kill off innocents.  My post will bring the rest of them out, so you can judge for yourself or just go over to the AP thread and read the past 20 pages of hatred, and make a list of names - they are easy to spot.  Take care ~~ Cathy  PS "Flame away"I disagree. I find this forum to be very friendly and supportive. I'm not that good of judge of this issue though because I never even enter the AP thread because the topic does not interest me. I feel like those that are opposed to AP shouldn't even open it either....but unfortunately not everyone agrees with that policy.

Don't let the bashings of a few paint the rest of us with the same brush.
Joe, the above post of JSNM is an example of whats going on here.Personally, I think Pip stepped over the line when she did call to arms telling people to go to non-ap boards and smack down people. by smacking down including terrorizing LevLarry to physical fights, telling everyone AP works for everyone and daring severe ra to drop their drugs and try ap, and them telling about her internet studies where she has helped people all over the world and has 90%success rates and everyone else and doctors are morons and idoits. Telling people who failed ap they didnt try long enough, do the right way etc, etc Joe none of you post are being twisted and i dont really think it has to do with you.  hope that helps you..please note my post does not use nasty terms regarding people like the above post. it is so uneccessary. mabus2009-04-19 07:21:14For the record, I am not one of Pip's "peeps", although I like to think of her as a friend.  She knows my wife has been on Humira for years now after failing AP, and she seems fine with that.  My wife is in remission since starting Humira, and while I think AP has great merit, I am for anything that helps people with this terrible disease because I have seen the worst. good for you and your wife...I love hearing that she's doing so well.

In this little AP world of AI ....  if you posted anything questioning AP you were someone trying to cause trouble.... AND if you dared question Pip's "claims" you were a hater.
Well, in my world, if you make claims... you should certainly be prepared to stand by them.
and she doesn't making claims that we have to wait for her book to come out..

the last thing we are is someone who doesn't want the best for all RA patients... and AP is NOT it... and if we state that..... we are "haters"

please.....
the best, Suzanne... is remission........
and AP does not supply it for All patients... realizing that nothing supplies remission for all.. we are all well aware of that..
but ultimately while you're waiting for remission..... you want to prevent damage!!  and AP does not do that... (And that is documented in lots of things I've read about AP therapy.. it's a DMARD for MILD RA)

edited to complete thought
babs102009-04-19 08:50:09and...... since you want to discuss AP ...

how bout we go to the AP thread... where discussion on AP is designated as JSNM wishes.

oh wait.. I forgot.. You cant' talk AP unless you're talking positively... no questions can be asked... no derrogatory remarrks can be made.. no no.. that's not allowed.

I am not involved in whatever happened on whatever board....

but I would like to know why you remain at a board w/ a DX that your family member no longer follows?

and why you come here to read when you think so lowly of all of us?

OH.. wait.. that's right.. you think we are a trainwreck!!!!
Thanks Pip !

OT Pip, but I just can't take all the bs on that other board.  Its either someone relating their latest sob story, a political cat-fight, or LL being an ignoramus.  95% of the discussion is about something other than RA.  However it is a bit like a car wreck - as much as I try to avoid it I always have to look!

Take Care,
Joe

and so we should be sympathetic to your plight of being "attacked"  And if you use the word "attacked" in the same manner as the APers here.... It holds little water.

Joe M,

I'm not sure that I would call it being "blind attacked" when you make statements at "you" forum that make you look like an ignoramous and an ass. A couple of days ago, I was PM and told to read the thread titled "Fom Joe M to Maz and all other "believers"at the roadback bullitin board. In one of your posts you reply to Pip and refer to our forum as a "train wreck". You reply to Pips comments about "our" forum, this forum, arthritisinsight forum, you said, "I just can't take all the bs on that other board." "It's either someone relating their latest sob story, a political cat fight or LL being an ignoramous." "95% of the discussion is about something other than Ra." Then you said "However it is somewhat like a car wreck-as much as I try to avoid it I always have to look."  Right, Joe M?

I guess that you believe that Mariana65 must be from this forum because she admonished you for making such a statement as you did. She said that it made you look like an ignorameous and an ass. Of course that person would have to be from here right? Because you know that there is no one there with such a good moral fiber.

What isn't surprising is that for months you and Pip mean mouthed this forum, "our" forum, arthritisinsight forum, at you and Pips forum, roadback and the admin said nothing about it. When some one posts that yous are wrong for the things you are saying about me and this forum, your admin at roadback all of a sudden reprimands those that said someting and threatens banishment from roadback.

So what are you here for Joe M? Just looking at the train wreck? Wanting to read our "latest sob" story? And how do you know that marianne65 is from here? You don't think you and Pip should have been admonished for saying such things on a thread at the roadback that was to ask for donations? Of course it took Marianne65 to do the job of the roadback admin. The roadback admin didn't mind that you and Pip were making derogatory statements about this forum and the members of this forum, did they? But, as soon as someone says something against their member, roadback didn't need 5 month to respond. What a bunch of trash.

Hey Joe, here's a good SOB story, it's called "Joe M". You know the road back, right?

Miss you!  And you are right - I have nothing against something that works as I may have to use it myself in the future, which I keep posting, but they cannot remember.

If you took Cathy's advice and looked at the last 20 -30 pages of the AP thread, you can see how portions of what anybody pro-AP says has been twisted to nefarious ends.

They don't want to ask you anything - they want to use portions of what you say to discredit AP.  Trust me, we've told them many a time to verify 1) you aren't an APer and 2) the trainwreck comment was about how AI is so dysfunctional (they've forced people off the board and others have left because of the BS) yet NOW they're upset at the term trainwreck???

CO_Mel, there is a website dedicated to educating the public about antibiotic protocal treatment for RA, its www.roadback.org.  The protocols for your doctor are there to print out for them, or they can read them themselves.

There are several recommended books to read while you are making up your mind.  You can do a google search for "antibiotic therapy for rheumatoid arthritis" and find millions of references to do your research.  Knowledge is power, and good luck.
then.. the newbie who had already tried AP and brought questions to the AP thread was attacked as a troll... called every derrogatory alteration of her site name...
but, the APers didnt' do anything to incite.

Lunk...I will relish that role in the same manner I have decided to ejoy being tagged as Troll.  I will simply play along with the intended insult and pretend to be as dumb as you and Justsaynoemore are determined to portray me. Whether Pip is citing a clinical trial or not is hardly the point, she posted success rates for her "peeps". Success rates have a basis: number of people involved and a criteria for meeting or failing a predetermined success are minimal, even when helping people around the world. What is so difficult about answering those questions? Pip's statistics either have a factual basis or they do not, full stop. How can a percentale relate to the "many people she has helped"?
You have chosen to see asking pertinent questions as behaving like children; sobeit. My perception of evasing of direct questions, tagging people with derogative names, and blithely saying, "read the book" is hardly responsible adult behavior.

Joe M, first I am sorry you were blindly attacked. How did you discover that those who confronted you were from here? Did you in turn confront those couple of posters at the scene of the crime, so to speak?

From reading through the AP topic, it seems that your name was first evoked by Pip. I cannot see where or how your posts were being twisted, rather it appears you were simply quoted.

Cheers.

I'm linking to the thread to show I do back things up.  I have looked for but never found the study I was told of by a rheum about placebo working better than plaq, but I have seen others post of being told the same thing by their rheums.  I have recently tried and tried to locate a post made here by someone else with a study about a med that did not work any better than a placebo for seronegs, but it seems to be gone.  It was the study article, my reply with a quote on that specific info, and a response from the original poster.  Can't find it in the archives for some reason.
That is a very broad brush stroke, Pip. It is, in fact, one I take exception to. I, for one, asked you questions that you evaded, avoided, and hedged for several weeks. Questions based solely on a post from you. I asked you to clarify what you had posted and instead of responding you first called me a troll and then said I was mean.

For the record. I DO NOT want to discredit AP, just the opposite. I wanted to know how you arrived at your publicly posted statistics. I was not satisfied with your "read the book" so I asked again, and then again. And, again for the record, I will restate my position: anyone who posts in public on any subject needs to be ready to respond quickly and honestly to queries about what they have posted.

To veracity and honesty!

I am not anti anything, rather I am pro everything.

As for what is going on, a read through some few other topics should give you an idea. If you can see beyond the hyperbole and theatrics you will be able to form your own opinion.
Suzanne,

Why is it so hard for you and the other APers to just admit that they cannot back up some wild and outrageouse statement that they have made. Why make us dizzy by running us around the bushes? No offense. Why do you spend so much time here when there is a forum made for people like you? It's called roadback. If you post all the negatives about traditional ra meds or make up wild and outrageous statements about corrupt fda or big pharm, you will get standing ovations at roadback. You can make up wild and outrageous misinformation about trditional meds and the manufacturers at roadback and no one will question you. They will appreciate you. You don't have to be honest at roadback, you just have to be pro AP. You will be allowed to post your opinion as fact and no one will question you. Doesn't that sound like your type of forum? No offense.

Your words are painful to read.  Your words were obviously meant to be inflammatory.  I am heart-sick and beyond hurt to know this is how you feel about those of us who, not so long ago, on the AP thread offered words of encouragement and support to you for your continued success in your fight against RA.

For the record, I have always felt there needed to be a place on the board for AP therapy, and all other therapies used to fight RA, where one could go for information, tips for coping and support.

It also makes no sense to me that you feel this board stopped being support to others with RA.  Do you read any other post on the board?

Your chemically brain fried friend,
Waddie

Waddie,

I am so sorry you were hurt buy Cathy's words.  I think frustration has set in because as you say it was a good thing to have the seperate AP thread for the good and the bad things that happen on AP and to help newbies look at both sides of treatment.  I was leaning toward AP so that is why I spent time in there and then you know what happened.  I am sure when Cathy see's your post you will hear from her either here or pm. I think this is going to, for whatever reason, go on through infinity and the same questions asked and answered over and over again.

Thank you for all of your posts.

eyes of her young granddaughter as she'd done many times before. After she
applied her lipstick and started to leave, the little one said, 'But Gramma,
you forgot to kiss the toilet paper good-bye!'

        # # # # #

My young grandson called the other day to wish me Happy Birthday. He
asked me how old I was, and I told him, '68.' He was quiet for a moment, and
then he asked, 'Did you start at 1?'

        # # # # #

After putting her grandchildren to bed, a grandmother changed into
old slacks and a droopy blouse and proceeded to wash her hair. As she heard
the children getting more and more rambunctious, her patience grew thin.
Finally, she threw a towel around her head and stormed into their room,
putting them back to bed with stern warnings. As she left the room, she
heard the three-year-old say with a trembling voice, 'Who was THAT?'

        # # # # #

A grandmother was telling her little granddaughter what her own
childhood was like: 'We used to skate outside on a pond. I had a swing made
from a tire; it hung from a tree in our front yard. We rode our pony. We
picked wild raspberries in the woods.' The little girl was wide-eyed, taking
this all in. At last she said, 'I sure wish I'd gotten to know you sooner!'

        # # # # #

My grandson was visiting one day when he asked, 'Grandma, do you
know how you and God are alike?' I mentally polished my halo while I asked,
'No, how are we alike?' 'You're both old,' he replied.

        # # # # #

A little girl was diligently pounding away on her grandfather's word
processor. She told him she was writing a story. 'What's it about?' he
asked. 'I don't know,' she replied. 'I can't read.'

        # # # # #

I didn't know if my granddaughter had learned her colors yet, so I
decided to test her. I would point out something and ask what color it as.
She would tell me and was always correct. It was fun for me, so I continued.
At last she headed for the door, saying sagely, 'Grandma, I think you should
try to figure out some of these yourself!'

        # # # # #

When my grandson Billy and I entered our vacation cabin, we kept the
lights off until we were inside to keep from attracting pesky insects.
Still, a few fireflies followed us in. Noticing them before I did, Billy
whispered, 'It's no use, Grandpa. The mosquitoes are coming after us with
flashlights.
'

        # # # # #

A second grader came home from school and said to her grandmother,
'Grandma, guess what? We learned how to make babies today.' The grandmother,
more than a little surprised, tried to keep her cool. 'That's interesting,'
she said, 'how do you make babies?' 'It's simple, ' replied the girl. 'You
just change 'y' to 'i' and add 'es'
.'

Children's Logic: 'Give me a sentence about a public servant,' said
a teacher. The small boy wrote: 'The fireman came down the ladder pregnant.'
The teacher took the lad aside to correct him. 'Don't you know what pregnant
means?' she asked. 'Sure,' said the young boy confidently. 'It means
carrying a child.'

A nursery school teacher was delivering a station wagon full of kids
home one day when a fire truck zoomed past. Sitting in the front seat of the
truck was a Dalmatian dog. The children started discussing the dog's duties.
'They use him to keep crowds back,' said one child. 'No,' said another,
'he's just for good luck.' A third child brought the argument to a close.
'They use the dogs,' she said firmly, 'to find the fire hydrants.

Are you absolutely sure he is referencing the Bob Dylan song?
Ah, Jeez!

Here it goes again. Yep, I'm a newbie based on number of posts, but I've been a member for awhile. Trying to sort posts and learn about the disease I now have confirmation of after nearly two years of fighting to get a definitive diagnosis. I learned so very much from this board. Finally I can begin treatment. If someone had listened to me a long time ago, I would not have the damage I have now.

I made a choice of treatment. It is my choice with the advice and knowledge of my Rheumatologist. I considered AP and decided it wasn't for me. This is my choice. Why in the devil is there such infighting about who is right or wrong!!??? Why is it that our individual decisions cannot be respected and accepted - and no matter our choice receive support on what is touted to be a support forum?

Get over yourselves. Different people make different decisions based on different circumstances. Respect those decisions and support the common need - advice and support for those with RA and related AI diseases. This fighting all the time is stressful even for those of us who have never (until now) participated in it.

We all are ultimately here to receive support, not confusion and aggravation.

Sorry if I've offended anyone here - that is not my intent. But this mess gets so old to those of us looking for help; just think of how it looks to a newly diagnosed person trying to find a lifeline. I had the patience to weed through - others do not. I'm still here - many are not because of threads such as this (and far worse).

OK, I've said my piece. If I'm attacked for it then so be it. But just remember that I'm simply stating what some others are afraid to say.

Have a beautiful and pain-free day! joe m why does it bother you so if levlarry's jingle jangle line isn't up to your standardsJoe M,

There is a large percentage of posts here at arthritisinsight rheumatoid forum that are not RA. But, many of us are past the point where ra rules our lives and thoughts as my ra did for the first six months and i think the same happens to almost all ra sufferers. This forum would be so boring if only ra subjects were discussed that soon there would be no more forum as happens to 95% of arthritis forums. This is the number one arthritis forum, tada. What seems so absurd is the fact that there are people here that don't have ra and at least two that try to make people believe that they do have ra, go figure that out.

If I were you I wouldn't be so concerned about my signature line making me "look stupid". If I were you, I would be more concerned about how stupid you look posting such trash as you did about me, this forum and the members of this forum on the roadback forum. That makes you look stupid. Not only does it make you look stupid, it also makes you look like an ass and an ignoramous as Marianna65 so elonquently said. And now you running amuck at this forum making stupid statements about my signature line. It makes you look so childish and shows your own embarrassment for your own words and actions. Quit making yourself look even worse.
Joe - unfortunately, the forces of evil in here will never respond. Take care ~~ Cathy  PS "Flame away"
So Joe, were you able to discern the posters I am referring to?  It's pretty easy to figure out.  Take care ~~ Cathy

Hey Lev, you gotta admit 95% of this board is NOT about RA.  And, for the umpteenth time, YOUR BOB DYLAN QUOTE IS WRONG.  IT MAKES YOU LOOK STUPID.
Actually for everyones info, I am Mariana65!  And I am not sorry I posted because that statement was totally uncalled for and I meant what I said 100%.

I am so tired of AP-ers attacking us and calling us crybabies if we are in pain.  AP didnt work for me.  That doesnt mean I hate the rest of you that it works for.  I couldnt be happier.  I want everyone to be pain free.  This is a horrible disease I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy!

As Lev said you AP-ers know the road back so well, why dont you take it?

Best regards,

Non AP-ers and sufferers of RA UNITE!

no worries maria, i wrote admin at rb and invited to read what their volunteers are representing as RB....Yes Sandra, actually I do have a life, I work anywhere from 10-12 hours per day, I was just away to the seaside for the weekend, I have a very active life.

But believe me when someone calls me a liar and tells me I am a quitter because a treatment I tried did not work for me and all my doctors (who buy the way are the TOP doctors in Croatia) are wrong, I am damn well going to defend myself.  It is simple as as that.

--- Wine and Water To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine..and those who don't.

As Ben Franklin said:
In wine there is wisdom,
In beer there is freedom,
In water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials,
Scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli,

 (E. Coli) - bacteria  found in feces.

In other words, we are consuming

1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when
Drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor), because alcohol has to go through a purification
Process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember:
   Water = Poop,        Wine = Health .

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid,
Than to drink water and be full of poop.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information:
I'm doing it as a public service.

This coming from the dumbass who keeps PMing me
really, Henrietta?

whatever would she want to PM you for?

Many women are afraid of their first mammogram, but there is no need to worry. By taking a few minutes each day for a week preceding the exam and doing the following exercises, you will be totally prepared and best of all, you can do these simple exercises right in and around your home.

EXERCISE ONE:

Open your refrigerator door and insert one breast in door. Shut the door as hard as possible and lean on the door for good measure.

Hold that position for five seconds. Repeat again in case the first time wasn't effective enough.

EXERCISE TWO:

Visit your garage at 3AM when the temperature of the cement floor is just perfect. Take off all your clothes and lie comfortably on the floor with one breast wedged under one of the rear tires of the car. Ask a friend to slowly back the car up until your breast is sufficiently flattened and chilled. Turn over and repeat with the other breast.

EXERCISE THREE:

Freeze two metal bookends overnight. Strip to the waist. Invite a stranger into the room. Press the bookends against one of your breasts.

Have the stranger mash the bookends together as hard as possible. Set up an appointment with the stranger to meet next year and do it again.

YOU ARE NOW TOTALLY PREPARED!

Oh and this is one of my favorite quotes......

Favorite rejoinder of Senator Harry S. Truman, when a member of his war contracts investigating committee objects to his strenuous pace:

"If you don't like the heat, get out of the kitchen."

SEX AFTER DEATH

A couple made a deal that whomever died first would come back and inform the other of the afterlife.

Their biggest fear was that there was no after life.

After a long life together, the  lover was the first to die.True to his word, he made the first contact, " Louise.....Louise ...

"Is that you,  Roger?"

"Yes, I've come back like we agreed."

"That's wonderful! What's it like?"

"Well, I get up in the morning, I have sex. I have breakfast and then it's off to the golf course. I have sex again, bathe in the warm sun and then have sex a couple of more times. Then I have lunch (you'd be proud - lots of greens) another romp around the golf course, then pretty much have sex the rest of the afternoon. After supper, it's back to golf course again. Then it's more sex until late at night. I catch some much needed sleep and then the next day it starts all over again."

"Oh  Roger  you surely must be in Heaven!"

"Not exactly ... I'm a rabbit on a golf course in Arizona."

If it bothers you so much why on earth do you come here? And for the record many of the regular posters here have full and vibrant lives.  This board is a nice way to unwind for a few minutes here and there.  Personally, I spend alot of time using my computer during the day (both back when I worked outside the home, and now that I'm SAHM brushing up on my programming skills), so the board is always just a mouseclick away.   It's quite helpful to be able to stop in here and let my mind "reboot" when I'm stumped on a homework exercise.  There are others here that are more or less housebound due to their disease, so this board serves as companionship.  I know I've certainly enjoyed hanging out here when I've been stuck in bed and unable to do much of anything else.

I enjoy hanging out with the many friends I've made here.  Perhaps you're just jealous.I came here looking for support for my husband and I. What do I have to be jealous for and why the nasty remark Jasmine. As a wife of a RA husband I was looking for information to help us both but every thread I go onto there is bitchiness and nastiness that is coming from the same members all the time. Its not fair on other people but you obviously dont care, its all about a select few on here and their hatred for each other.
Sorry babs I did PM Henrietta, it was about the pure evil in her attacks on others who are really having a hard time.
Thanks for the non support on this board , you will eventually chase away people who need help just so you argue about who is wrong and who is right about their meds.
Jasmine you might enjoy hanging out here ( there are a few decent members  who seem to be fighting to stay in the posts) Are you always to unwelcoming to someones opinions about the arguing. Its doesnt matter there are other boards that i looked into last night, they seem to have more substance than this one..
