Hello Black girl, I am currently on methotrexate. I was on it for 2 years. I did pretty good with it. Then about right before Christmas. I white blood cell count went down. And my doctor stop the methotrexate. I just got over a really bad flare. Both of my knees and my legs were swollen. She just put me back on the methotrexate. 4 pills a week and a vitamin b12 and b6. You will do well on it if they keep it down to 4 or 5 pills a week.

I am allso afro american. I hope this help you

In Oct. 2005 I was diagnosed with severe progressive RA, active SLE, and Sjogren's.  My RA factor was 4448 (no joke), and my sed rate was 112. Has anyone else had numbers this high and if so what has been your treatment and experience?  My Rheumy put me on prednisone (which worked wonders), p;aquenil, naproxen, and now I will begin methotrexate (this one has me kind of freaked out).  Can anyone give me any info on metho?

Welcome~Black Girl? (Are you sure that's what you want us to call you?)

I answered your post in the RA section. I've taken MTX for years and really like it. Try not to be scared off by all the things you read....the ones that can tolerate it really are grateful for the difference it's made in their life's.

Welcome again.
