Calcium and Pain | Arthritis Information
I've been taking a calcium nitrate supplement and noticed significant pain reduction shortly after taking it. My hand had been bothering me and the pain went away. I will continue the supplement.
Don't know if anyone else has ever noticed this.
I've taken Calcium for years for my bones, don't notice any difference when I forget it.
Maybe you are Calcium deficient. My labwork showed very low Vit D but normal CA.
At least you found something to help lessen your pain and it's so easy.
Cathy Marie-
Yes, it certainly is.
I would have to venture that Vitamin D is included in that Calcium tablet... it assists in the absorption of the Calcium.... Babs, if you were responding to my comment, yes my calcium has vit D in it so I've been taking 800units daily all along. Apparently it wasn't enough so RD said to take 2,000more. Easy fix.I was told to stop my calcium supplements because I kept getting high readings on my blood work. Sure enough last results I'm back in normal range.

thanks CathyMarie, but I was replying to Jan Lucinda's thinking the calcium helped her pain.. I could find nothing about calcium and pain, but found tons about calcium/VitD and pain...
Babs-
I've read ALOT about calcium and pain.
