checking in -- hello all! | Arthritis Information

it's been a little while and a lot has happened.

I was started on cytoxan for the lupus kidney situation. and developed lupus headache and meningitis and what felt like a mini stroke. hospitalized for 3 wks, mostly alone for that time but dh moved back and I was happy he was there to speak on my behalf because I was totally out of it. the kidneys didn't do well through all of this so dialysis was started.  I am trying to wrap my brain around being on dialysis. 20+ lbs of fluid was taken off in those 3 wks.
I need a little time to process it all and not sure if I can visit here often but hope all is well as can be and I will be checking in from time to time hopefully with good news or least not always such bad news.
take it easy.
Great News! - You're still with us.  You have been through quite an ordeal.  *Gentle Hugs*

Sounds like you're had one heck of time there, Shelly.  Hope things turn around for you soon.

Prayers going up Shelly- sorry you are in a rough patch. Please keep us posted when you are up to it. Shelly, I was so worried about you!  I am so relieved to hear from you but saddened by your news.  That is such a lot to take in and I can not imagine how you must feel about it all.  You keep looking forward, Shelly, and I will be sending up healing energy for better days ahead.

I am sorry to hear of your news. Many prayers for you.

Please keep us posted!

Much and many hugs to you.
HI Shelly, so sorry to hear of your problems, I shall pray for you and hope that getting better is all you will do now, all the best from Janie.

Shelly, I've been wondering about you and certainly didn't expect to read this.  I'm so sorry.  What a load you had dumped on you.  Do they think dialysis will be short term?  Was this all a side effect of Cytoxan or part of Lupus symptoms?

Please let us know how you're doing and progressing.  Take care.  Lindy

Geez, Shel! You've been through the ringer! I hope the dialysis is only temporary. Get well soon and please keep us in the loop. *gentle hugs*Good grief this is a lot to take in!!

It sounds a bit like when my BIL got so very sick and they bounced around with  diagnoses of Lupus, Wegeners,  etc..
He was on dialysis but only for a little while, and his kidneys  have gotten back to where they should be..

Please feel much better.

Sending you my very best wishes. As Kathy said, this is a lot to take in. I am heartened to hear that you have someone to assist you with all of this.
