checking in -- hello all! | Arthritis Information
it's been a little while and a lot has happened.
I was started on cytoxan for the lupus kidney situation. and developed lupus headache and meningitis and what felt like a mini stroke. hospitalized for 3 wks, mostly alone for that time but dh moved back and I was happy he was there to speak on my behalf because I was totally out of it. the kidneys didn't do well through all of this so dialysis was started. I am trying to wrap my brain around being on dialysis. 20+ lbs of fluid was taken off in those 3 wks.
I need a little time to process it all and not sure if I can visit here often but hope all is well as can be and I will be checking in from time to time hopefully with good news or least not always such bad news.

Shelly, I was so worried about you! I am so relieved to hear from you but saddened by your news. That is such a lot to take in and I can not imagine how you must feel about it all. You keep looking forward, Shelly, and I will be sending up healing energy for better days ahead.

Shelly, I've been wondering about you and certainly didn't expect to read this. I'm so sorry. What a load you had dumped on you. Do they think dialysis will be short term? Was this all a side effect of Cytoxan or part of Lupus symptoms?

It sounds a bit like when my BIL got so very sick and they bounced around with diagnoses of Lupus, Wegeners, etc..
He was on dialysis but only for a little while, and his kidneys have gotten back to where they should be..
