OT: OMG TWINKIES! | Arthritis Information

Share

So... hubby bought me some twinkies tonight. Then he opened them for me to get one out. He said "What is up with the "2" on them? Are they 2nd quality twinkies?"

I said "OH NO!! You paid .00 for 2nd quality twinkies!!" Then I engulfed the twinkie in 2 bites.

MMMMMMmmmmmm... MMMMM..... MMMMMM..... GOOOOOOOD!

I think I might take them back, and ask for my 50 cents back since they are all marked with a "2" on them. 2nd quality twinkies do not deserve 50 cents more!

He will get no more twinkies! He got that one because he got me something to drink and opened my darvocet bottle that I have a hard time opening by myself.
Joonie, can you please post here, or PM me, a link to info on those Twinkies??

I am a total chocoholic and when I am indulging I do at least pratice delaying total gratification and buy a box of Cadbury ' Favourites'.
This is a box of assorted mini choc bars with my faves, Turkish Delight and Flake bars.

Link here  mentions most bars in the box!

I do miss having Hot Chocolate in Italy, the chocolate was so thick a spoon would really stand up in the cup and it was topped with whipped cream!  (

If you want to PM me your address, I will send you a box of my 'Favourites'.

Here is a website to twinkies

Twinkies, twinkies... everyone wants a twinkie! Between the two of you guys you have me salivating for a twinking or some chocolate and it is too late for those because they will give me heartburn.  Maybe I will go get a chocolate chip coooookie.

Pat
I am disappointed! I thought they would be chocolate.   lolol...oh well, I have done a search here in NZ and can get them from the States through a NZ auction site, and I now have a Twinkie Cake recipe printed off.

Joonie...no more talking about sweet things huh? I am already a sucker for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.   lolol...oh well, I have done a search here in NZ and can get them from the States through a NZ auction site, and I now have a Twinkie Cake recipe printed off.

I have a very easy recipe for Reese's Peanutbutter squares if you would like it.  It makes a 9 X 13 in. pan full.

LOLOL......oops, sorry, I shouted.

Id love a recipe for those. ( I think

I would skip deepfried twinkies though. There's something about a crisco covered twinkie that doesn't jive.I'm not a big Twinkies fan

Now, give me Tastykakes.......... and you are in trouble!!!

of course they are only available in a small midAtlantic market...... but they are devine!!  I use to have to send them.. and scrapple to my brother in law when he was stationed in Germany..... and to my exFIL when he was alive living in NM.....
Why oh why did I open the twinkie thread......now I'm going to be craving twinkies all day!

I knew better.....but I did it anyway.
I had a big ole clever response typed up and the internet bombed on me...

Suffice it to say: ZINGERS ROCK!!
They should be made in larger sizes!

Tastykakes look mighty appealing - chocolate!

I panicked because I could not find my Xmas candy recipes, fudge etc.  It always helps to check under the C's for candy.
OK Lyn, here goes...I have to warn you that once you start eating these you can't stop!

    Base                                                             Topping

1 1/2 cups Peanut Butter                            1 cup Chocolate Chips
1 3/4 cups Brown Sugar                               1/4 cup Butter
1 3/4 cups Icing Sugar
1/2 cup Melted Butter

Combine peanut butter, brown sugar, icing sugar and melted butter.  Mix well.  Spread into buttered or foil lined 9 x 13 in. pan.

(I have found that if I soften the peanut butter a bit by warming and either sift or put icing sugar through a sieve it is much easier to mix.)

Place chocolate chips and butter in a 4 cup measuring cup.  Microwave for 2 minutes.  Stir until chips are melted.  Spread over all.

I also line the 9 X 13" pan with a large enough piece of tin foil that once hardened you can just wrap it up and put into the freezer

We used to be able to buy "fat free" twinkies when we went accross the line but they stoped selling them dang it.  Have not had a twinkie since.  Booooo.
Pat..that recipe sound delicious, thanks so much! Do I need to keep this refrigerated? As there is no flour and heaps of butter I imagine so? And what a simple recipe!

Its an unfortunate fact that I can see this recipe being tested time and time again. lolol..
