sed rate | Arthritis Information

Took my son to the rheumatologist yesterday. In the past month he has shown miraculous improvement. He feels and looks like he is almost RA free. He has a slight bit of inflamation in one toe. He has been taking many vitamins, a very healthy diet, many fruits and vegetables, 8 glasses of water a day, high levels of viamin D, along with motrin. The rheumy said he may be one of his miracle stories where vitamin D may be reversing his jra. We then  got his blood results back today and many things have improved but his sed rate has gotten worse. he went from 32 to 40. I can't understand how that is when he feels and looks so good. Is this common to show such physical improvements and yet still worsen?

This is interesting the vit. D?  My daughter has JRA diagnosed at age 3.  She is now 11.  We've never been told to take any vitamins or calcium.

Her sed rate has never been tested again since diagnosis.  This is my first night on this site.  My daughter is being treated with methotrexate sub-cutaneous injections and her hair has gotten very thin.  I just wonder will this continue.  She's lucky it started out very thick.  But going into 6th grade is tough enough.  I hope she doesn't lose more.
