Just thought I would let you in on our first dog training session for my pup.

Dog training last Sun was a hoot, I haven't done anything at all with him regards to serious training until now & it was his first time.

He was doing everything right even sitting with people jumping over him without budging 'til I freed him --- Then he was asked to drop!  I dropped his chin to the ground expecting him to squirm and lie down; but he decided he wasn't going down! he just planted his feet with his nose on the ground and it didn't matter what I did he wouldn't give up - it was his will against mine, and I was as determined to win as he was.  It took 40min of holding his nose to the ground until he finally dropped !!  A new record in stubborness, but that's Airedales for you.

Clyde at 7mths.

he's a cutie..Clyde is a good name for a doghe's a pretty boy!!BTW,.. . I've read they are one of the smartest breeds... but also one of the strongest willed!Real cute. How old is he?

Such a nice looking dog!

Just turned 7mths last Sunday ...

And yes they can be a stubborn breed ... but very protective and really overly inquisitive.  My husband has trouble leaf blowing, whipper snipping or using the chain saw because his nose is in the way - he takes hold of the end of the leaf blower and twists it til it comes off and runs away with it, he loves the wind blowing in his face and isn't worried at all about motors or any loud noises.  If my son takes his dirt bike out of the shed and starts it Clyde wants up on his knee.  If I am weeding he will pick up the weeds I throw out and put them back into the hole they came from.  Last time we had the dogs up on the block he bailed up a kangaroo, thank heavens it just jumped away - no fear !!

I also have a mini schnauser but she definitely rules the roost - if Clyde accidentally hurts her when they are playing he bolts & hides under the water tank til she lets him out.  It wouldn't be the first time I have come home from work and she is pacing -- I always know when he is under the tank...lol

Edited by me:
'the block' is our 100 acres of forest up on the river ... lots of kangaroos!

OK Pat,

Bring up the email with the photo - put your mouse on the photo itself & right click, press COPY then just paste it into wherever you want ... or press SAVE and save it to your desk top.

Hope that helps - if not give me a hoy & I will PM you ...

Maz,
Ps --- what's your pup & what's his/her name ???

She is a miniature long haired chiuaua, pekenese and I think sh*tzou all of which I have no idea how to spell but you get the idea.  OK, going to retrieve the picture and hope it works.
