Well... it has been a long time acoming. But we finally have to let our internet service go. I can no longer justify having it. Before I needed to be able to keep my brothers website up and running, and for me to have people to understand what I was going thru with all of this.

So... I would like to thank all of you for your support, understanding, prayers and friendships. They were all GREATLY apperciated.

I will miss my online friends and being online playing scrabble and all that I do on the internet.

My internet will be cut off sometime next month. I think like within the 2nd week of the month.

I might be able to log on if I can get my wifi to work. McD's has free wifi. But still probably not an option. As my kids would want to eat from there and I would have to break it to them, that mommy wants to get on the internet and no we are not eating.

Thanks for your friendship and support.

June
No way joonie- you''ll go nuts!

Well, hubby already called and cancled it & our direcTV. So... now... I have to find other ways to keep son & I unbored.

If I ever get a job... I will get my internet back. Screw the TV. I have not watched TV at home, since we downgraded to the cheapest plan. Nothing I care to watch, mostly all cartoon channels.

Joonie, our little tiny town has free internet, do you have a library in your town?  I realize it is not ideal, but if you could check in a couple of times a week?  And, you wouldn't have to feed the kids!   I sure hate to see you go.  You are a friend to many and offer great support.  I love laughing at your Joonieisms and your wonderful stories!  You are a peach, Joonie and we will be the poorer for loosing you! That stinks- I would be dialing the Chinese restaurant right now.... Joonie
You will be sorely missed...the sense of humor and the uplifting posts.  Is there any chance he will change his mind.  BOOOOO to hubby.

Pat
Joonie, you can't do that!!!  Who is going to discuss the latest flavor of candy corn with us, or get all of us singing the Viagra jingle?  You are a very important part of this forum, and I hope this doesn't have anything to do with some of the mean things that were said to you yesterday.

I do understand times are tough and everyone is cutting back where they can.  How about the library   --  are you able to access the internet there for free?  The kids could be looking at books in the childrens section while momma goes surfing!
No, it was mostly my idea. We are struggling financially right now, and it was said if I wanted the TV to go, something of mine had to go as well. So... I finally gave in. Because I am tired of being woke up by phone calls starting at 8am exactly and not stopping until 11pm.

My hubby has not been working a lot of overtime, because they have not been needing people to work overtime. So... that is cutting out about 0 a month.

I told my FIL that I applied for jobs at wal-mart and homedepot. He looked shocked. Then I told him about how I failed the wal-mart employee assessment test and he laughed so hard. Then I told him I bet wal-mart will not be hiring me LOL!

So... this coming week, after my infusion, which is tomorrow. I am going to go to a few more places in town to apply for jobs.

I asked my hubby if he would take to apply, he just looked at me. We already had a conversation about me & working, and he flat out told me that he did not think I was capiable of working just yet. I told him, but we need the money, he said so? Now... I just want to get a job to prove him wrong. That is how I got my first job, my boyfriend at the time said I would never get a job, so to prove him wrong... I went and got a job and LOVED IT!
WHOA, you can't go, sorry but find some other way.  The web is also an educational tool for your children.  Anyway, can you share with someone in your neighborhood?  The library, college, friends, MIL, mothers, sisters, anyone else?  You'll find a way.  You've made too many friends here.  Think, think, think, Lindy
I was just posting this now... to get it out of the way and just incase it gets cut off before I get a chance to say "bye".

No, had nothing to do with what was said yesterday. Just something that needs to be done.

Yeah... I did not think about the library! I have been wanting to reintroduce my son back to the library scene. We use to go all the time when he was younger, so daughter could check books out. And my kids made friends with the librarian and she would not charge us late fees if we were only a couple of days late on returning. Then one day... it was a different librarian and our books were a couple of days late and we had to pay the late charge, and since then... it kinda lost its appeal.

But... son likes going to places like that, so I have been meaning to talk to hubby about going back again. It has been a couple of years (I think).
You can also borrow movies from the library for free if you had to give up your cable too. Just another excuse to go to the library. There are lots of folks in our town who use the library to get on line. Sorry to hear about your finances Joonie, hope things turn around.Sorry to hear that Joonie.  But try the library.  It won't be as convenient but at least you could post occassionally.  Good luck to you, HGJoonie so sorry to hear about your situation. Life is getting really hard for lot's of us I know. I can't imagine the board without you. What will we do.  I'll pray maybe God will make a way for you to keep the internet service. Anything can happen if there's hope.  Oh we have a lot of Disney movies from when daughter was a toddler. She was a Disney movie freak and we bought every disney movie that came out on VHS. My son is not that much into disney movies. He likes shows that teach him things. Like blues clues and dora and noggin... he loves the channel noggin. My daughter got a large voacabulary from watching all those disney movies, people thought she read books LOL! I was like that is from watching disney movies non-stop. hahaha!

I do not think my sister still has her internet connected. I will see when I go over there to visit my mom this weekend.
Biscuit!!!   This is very bad news.  I'll miss you

I want you to leave as well. I might just spend my last couple of weeks on the internet outting you. wow..Joonie..... I am so sorry....
Please try to find a way to come back often......  (I still have something you gave me a long time ago..... I will send you updates, ok?)
[QUOTE=joonie]I do not want your "bye"... you imposter.

Joonie, I know I'm new, but I will miss you a lot. Your way of posting is so delightful.

I've used free internet in libraries in different states so maybe it's the same all over the country, so I second or third or fourth that idea. I remember how fun our weekly visits to the library were for my children. Maybe during children's storytime readings, you could have a computer with internet reserved for you to say hi to us?

I am so sorry to hear your situation is so bad you must lose your best entertainment and reaching out to the world access.  As sad as it is for us on this board, it must be more so for you. I too understand the losses that accompany financial difficulty. I haven't been able to work in over a year now and poor hubby can't sell enough cars to bring in what we need for basic bills. He is either #1 or #2 salesman at the local Toyota for April yet he has only sold 8 cars! I sure hope other people are not like us and you guys who will use our stimulus $ to pay bills, we need them to buy cars from my hubby! We are losing our home of 20yrs, have a buyer interested, waiting to hear if Bank of America will approve the short sale... if not, we'll have to declare bankruptcy. Anyway, we are slowly getting rid of our furniture. In our living room, on our pretty laminate flooring I've loved, all we have left is 2 old recliner chairs with a tv tray in-between for the lamp and a little stand with tv ontop and aquarium underneath. I burst into song the other day (who knows why) and the echo chamber sound scared me silly! We will eventually move to a tiny 1 bedroom apt. I'm applying for "section 8" aide but don't know the criteria for approval. The biggest difference between you and us is that you have young children and ours are grownup and on their own, although barely making it in their own apts so unable to help us.  I guess without tv and internet, you will be playing more games with the kids and reading and listening to music? To reduce the pang of no tv for them, I agree about the video/DVD movies -free at library (for you too). Garage sales sell them for less than . I can't imagine not having the internet again. Lucky for me, hubby needs it to find cars for people.

Regardless of you working or not, think of this as a temporary loss. In the meantime, be creative in entertaining yourself and your family and please do try to occasionally check in here and let us know how you are doing and how your health is. Take care of yourself.

Joonie, those who suggested the library are right....even if its once in a while you have gotta keep in touch. Somehow. And your situation could change anytime, and hopefully it does.

Lyn
Just know I have you in my thoughts and I pray things get better soon for you also.

Lyn
Hi Joonie, as you can see and we already know, everyone cares, especially moi!  Do you have a local community centre or childrens centre, just thought maybe you could offer to do a little voluntary work in exchange for computer time, but the library is a great idea, all the vey best, can't stand the thought of you not being here, thanks for all the laughs and assistance, hugs Janie.hi joonie, I will miss you as well!!

I think you're really going to miss the support!!
Library is a great idea..  and also super couponing!!!
Takes awhile to get stocked, but then you'll have 200-400 extra a month!! (some months)
and stocked for a year! Its great..

will definately miss you, so check in often at the library!! :)

Blessings~
Hi Joonie
Heck Im sorry you are leaving. I cant believe it !!!..AI wont be the same without you . Im really sorry things are financialy difficult for you, its the same world wide and its so sad. The internet is part of everyones life now, its like breathing and its also such a good learning tool for kids. Maybe you will get a job somewhere soon and be back online again.
The library is a really good idea and it will be fun for your son to go too. Like a morning out with mummy.
Try and post as often as possible until you get cut off and then even if you go to the library once a week , just check in here to let us know how you are doing.
Take care June
Lisa
Oh, we would miss you soooooooooo much!  I hope you can find some way to check in and post!!  It's like a whole new view of luxury vs. necessity now. My husband and I are not really struggling, but we are having trouble with doing things like putting groceries on the credit card, so we are thinking of cancelling DirectTV too.  Going to stock up on VHS at yard sales, and fill the TIVO with as many things as we can before we cancel (if we do).

Good luck with finding a job!!!
Joonie; I'm real sorry to hear this too Sweetie. I know times are hard for you guys....but ths is your link to the outside world. You are so isolated there and I can't imagine you not having internet. Have you checked other providers? Maybe some sort of dial up would be really cheap. I know it would be slow and not as good as what you have now....but you would at least have a connection. Isn't something like NetZero less than a month?

If you use the internet to print grocery coupons you'll save that in a weeks time.

We'll really miss you if you leave....but I'm not saying good-bye yet either. I'll keep hoping something will work out.
Joonie,  I don't know you well either, but I really enjoy reading your posts.  I think you are brave as well as funny.

I think there are still some internet providers out there for around ten dollars a month.  Maybe you could check on one of those.

You have many friends here and when you don't feel well I'm sure having them at your fingertips is a great sense of comfort for you.

Hope something works out!

You are such a fake bitch!  I remember several times receiving pm's from you talking about joonie.  Dont act like you're all concerned, you don't give a sh*t about anyone in here but yourself.  You're a 2-faced, back-stabbing DRAMA QUEEN!
Im sorry unless you reveal who you are I cant say whether I have ever PM'd you about Joonie or not.
I have saved every PM i have ever recieved or sent on AI , If you like I could post them ( might take a while but can be done) from my files..no problem....

Joonie sorry honey , Ive not to my knowledge ever posted anything about you that you havent read on here or in  PM to you...this is done to upset you as I really dont care what Lisaonline says about me..im thick skinned.

Id say Lisa that you really need to be careful what you write...dont you know Im supposed to be able to infiltrate personal information about anyone on here...or so Lev says.

To save every pm, good God, you must have no life!

You think you can get my personal info?

You BITCH
LisaOnline, why are you so angry? Have you considered anger management? Why has AA not popped in? Joonie. Have you considered going down to your local job service? There are funds available in every state to help you get an education to get a job. I cannot remember what it is called but it would not take me long to find it. My daughter is in the process of getting a pharmacy tech certificate so she can be a tech. They make about 15.00 an hour to start, that is just an example. Your state has funding to pay for education like this. If you take the course online, it will pay for your internet and a computer. Please consider something like this. If you want to pursue this, let me know and I will get the info for you and you can either visit them online or you can go to your local job service. This may be a really good thing for you to do. Let me know. I hate to see you leave here. Many enjoy your presence. [QUOTE=lorster]Joonie. Have you considered going down to your local job service? Great advice Lorster!
Hey Joonie-I was just checking in and saw your post.  Since we are in the middle of graduations etc. I thought I better post before you lose your service.  I'm sorry that you will be losing you internet, but I feel sure it's temporary.  I'm also feeling confident that you will be able to check in occassionally via free internet options.  I'm glad to see you remain optimistic my "RA peep"!
