OMG - neck is KILLING ME! | Arthritis Information

I think I pulled something yesterday.  The muscles in my neck and left shoulder were hurting but some Icy Hot, naproxen and tylenol made it bearable.  I managed to fall asleep comfortably last night with the help of some Lunesta... but I woke up this morning and OMG yikes!  Gonna pull out the tramadol for this one.  Also going to use a heating pad, since I'm going to be in the house all morning.

Oh - and it's raining again here!  Will it ever end?  I'm keeping a lookout for an old man with a big boat full of yummy animals do you have moist heat, Jas?   That seems to penetrate better, IMO..

I hope you're feeling better soon!
do you have moist heat, Jas?   That seems to penetrate better, IMO.. Ok, don't use the moist pad
I'm waiting for the rain to let up for a few hours so I can make a mad dash to the store.  Either that, or I'm serving broccoli, bacon and waffles for dinner tonight.
And there would be something wrong with that combo

Absolutely nothing wrong with broc, waffles, bacon.  Meets my criteria.  Take it easy dashing to the store.  Last time I dashed into the grocery store a little old blue hair T boned me with her cart!  I thought she had broken my leg.  After I caught my breath, put my sandal back on, looked at my injuries I cornered her in the cereal aisle and told her what I though of her driving habits.  The store clerk rescued her.  Two days later I saw her driving a golf cart down the middle of the road to the shopping center.....be careful.  Lindy
Absolutely nothing wrong with broc, waffles, bacon.  Meets my criteria.  Take it easy dashing to the store. Chop the bacon and broccoli and wrap the mixture in the waffles and call it roll-up---a bit of grated cheese, if you have it and five minutes under the broiler to heat all the way through. Or, if you are making the waffles from scratch, use the batter to make faux crepes and dine in in style! !LOL!

Yes, please be careful dashing anywhere... .

LOL - reminds me of one time shopping at the local grocery store.  Oldest son was a couple months old, and he was safely bundled and snoozing away in his baby seat in my cart.  I was standing at the pharmacy counter looking at the various thermometers and medicine droppers (son had his first ear infection).  Both my cart and I were completely stationary.  BAM! Out of nowhere this little shriveled up old man rammed my cart with his.  The baby woke up and let everyone know how pissed off he was, and the old man proceeded to shout at me and tell me to watch where I was going.  OMG!  I felt bad for him; he was a physical wreck.  He smelled of urine, and his pants looked like he had just wet himself again.  His hands (clutching car keys!!!!) were shaking.  He wasn't qualified to push a shopping cart, much less drive a car!!!!  I discreetly called police dispatch from my cellphone to see if they could get an officer to come to the store, as I really think he was a danger to himself and others.  But of course, he left long before officers showed up (if they ever did).  The pharmacy staff did not want to get involved, citing privacy concerns.  They knew his name and address, since he had just picked up a script.

Scary stuff.
Jas, I hope your trip to the store is uneventful!  Is your son up to snuff today?  Waffles make a mighty tasty supper sometimes... just don't run out of Coca-cola!

Feel better soon!
Hope you are feeling better. I like standing in a hot shower for that kind of thing. The waffle, bacon, broccoli ideas are making me nauseous- hope you felt up to going to the store! Doing much better tonight!  Naproxen, tramadol and Coke can fix damn near anything Hi Jas, sorry to disagree, sort of, with the others, but when an injury is new, ice is recommended, to help reduce swelling, which is the purpose of anti-inflammatories too so switch from Tylenol to ibprophen might help too.  Later, after, the icing stage, heat is a muscle relaxer and promotes healing. If you hate ice, like me, you can alternate.

I hate icing but since I'm severely allergic to anti-inflammatories, it's all I have for possible swelling. I absolutely love my hottub... deep, long, wet heat... the best.

Good luck.  I damaged a disc in my neck 20 years ago and have had neck challenges ever since.  If it is just a muscle strain it should heal. Thanks, Jan.  It's doing much better now.  I was in a car accident about 18 months ago and had minor whiplash from it.  Since then I've had a few minor flareups from time to time.  Often the triggering event seems to be just sleeping wrong, though sometimes it's from doing lots of heavy lifting.  Last week I was carrying a bunch of stuff downstairs at church for the food pantry and also for Bingo concessions.  I suspect that may have triggered this episode.  Nothing that a couple days of rest, drugs and heat couldn't fix.

Glad you're doing better, Jas!
The husband had to go to work this afternoon, so the boys and I were on our own for dinner.  We made bacon, eggs and waffles.  Yum!  The boys are demanding that I get a new waffle iron - they insist that my 20-year old Black-and-Decker heart-shaped waffle iron is too "girly" for them.
