Humira & MTX Same Day? | Arthritis Information

I currently take methotrexate injections once a week and am getting ready to add Humira as well.  Does anyone know if I can administer the two injections on the same day? It would sure make remembering easier!

Also, how have you done with keeping infections at bay while on Humira?  I'm a tad concerned as I also have type I diabetes which makes me more prone to infections.  I know I'll manage somehow - just curious what others' experiences have been.

Hi Kate, you should talk to your RD about taking both injections on the same day.  I did it once and for me it was a completely lost day.  As far as infections, we're all different.  I use the same precautions that's being advised for the Swine Flu outbreak:  wash your hands, use antibacterial, stay away from people that are obviously ill and just use your common sense.  Even with precautions you can still get infections.  Keep us posted on how you're doing.  LindyHi Kate. Welcome!

I decided not to take my mtx and enbrel on the same day mainly because I didn't want to wait till the end of the week to start the enbrel. I'm convinced that this is going to be the med that helps me get my life back! It sure stings tho..

Type 1 diabetes too? Wow you've got a lot on your plate. Let us know how it's going ok?
Happy injecting!I'm off MTX now but when I was on it I always took it at the same time. I took the pills....but that shouldn't matter.

I haven't had any problems with infections....I've been lucky.
i always took them the same day..it was easier to remember that way
