Happy Spring All

It is my happiest.  I cannot believe how well I have been feeling.  At least on sunny days.

It is late but I received an email from my brother about a new drug from Johnson and Johnson for RA and other autoimmune diseases.  Once a month injectable.  The article was only  partial and I did a search on J and J website but so far no new info.  I am tired so will try again tomorrow but I thought maybe some of you may have heard of this drug????

I am feeling so productive.  Spring cleaning for garage sale.  I am so NOT materialistic anymore.  Just give me a sunny day or a call or visit from family or maybe a cute klutzy or sweet move from my pets and I am one happy camper.

Colton is graduating in a month.  The whole family is going except me (cannot sit that long) but I will be going to dinner with them.  I am so proud of him.  He makes it worth marrying his father - which is tough - boy was I wrong about him.  Anyway- Colton and I are very close and he does not want anything to do with his Dad.  I am so proud of his accomplishments.  Great kid.

wishing you the best of spring -  Rox
welll that sounds lovely, roxy..... glad you're having some wonderful times..

IDK anything about the med you speak of... but I hope this bump up brings it to someone who does!
Search on Simponi and/or Golimumab; there have been a few discussions on this recently approved treatment. My FIL said he saw it on the news, and asked me if I knew about it. I said yep... one more medicine I get to try in the future. He said Oh... I'm sorry. I hadn't heard of this med yet, Roxy. I guess I missed the threads on it? I'll have to google later.

Glad to hear you are doing so well!! That is wonderful news and I hope it continues for you. Perhaps you could attend the graduation ceremony if you alternate sitting and standing? If not, at least you are able to go to the dinner. I'm sure he'll appreciate it. :)

Have a superfantastic and extra-comfortable evening! *gentle hugs*
It was just approved last week, I believe. I'm on a mission to declutter my life too Roxy.  At the beginning of the year I found a website that set a challenge.....to get rid of 2009 things in 2009.  I really need to do this as we have so much 'stuff' in the house it makes it hard to keep tidy (and I'm not one of those tidy people, so I need all the help I can get).  Well I decided to take on the challenge and as of now I have removed 720 'things' from the  house.  From old dried up pens that have been sitting around, books no longer needed or used, magazines, bits of craft stuff,  clothing that I won't wear again, and random bits of crap just lying around.  Sold some of it on ebay, gave some to charity and put some in the garbage.  I try to average 1-2 bags of garbage a week along with 2-3 bags for the Salvation Army.  We are trying to renovate, so getting rid of all this stuff is really helpful as it cleans up the room we are going to work on, which was my craft room and the room that gets all the junk dumped into it when company comes.  Yesterday we even got rid of the old, mustard coloured carpet from the family room!  Of course I have to be careful what I let Mark get his hands on cause he put out some shelves that I really wanted to keep, on to the hard rubbish collection on the nature strip in front of the house and someone picked it up immediately.  Oh well, just gives me an excuse to buy another nice one when we finish the renovations.
But to tell you the truth, I just really feel better getting rid of all the clutter from the house and even some from my life, and I'm having fun getting organised again like I used to be before RA hit.  You are so right, 'stuff' doesn't matter, and getting rid of crap feels good!
I've been working on decluttering also.  My "retirement" has been such a godsend.  I have been able to get so much more done around the house, and I'm not tired and cranky in the evening from having spent 2+ hours in traffic (even in a Mini Cooper, that gets old quick) and another 6+ hours at the office dealing with stupid crap.  I'm hoping to get our upstairs apartment completely decluttered this spring, and then spend the summer doing repairs and painting with the boys.  Right now we have one wall with 4 big patches of different colored paint on it, so that we can see how the paint actually looks in "real life."  We have one wall that we're going to knock down between two bedrooms so that I can have a bigger bedroom/office.  My bedroom and the one right next to it are 8x12, so when we're done I'll have a 16x12 girls-only room (and since I'm the only girl in the house...   The ceiling is another story - I think I'll find someone to come in and do those repairs.  There are a few places where the plaster is cracking/crumbling.  I can trip over my own feet on an unobstructed floor, so I've got no business standing on a ladder to fix the ceiling. Sounds like you are having a fun time JasmineRain.  We are knocking out the wall between the family room and my craft room (the 5th bedroom) to make a bigger  L-shaped family room.  LIke I said the carpet came up yesterday.  The cupboards are all going to be refitted first, that way I can store my craft stuff.  Then the wall comes down.  We have internal brick walls on 3 sides and a timber panelling walll that will all be plastered in the end and painted.  I can't wait for the paint part, but I'll just have to wait for hubby to do all the hard work first.  Getting rid of crap is very cathartic, but can be very hard.  You've kept stuff for a reason, and now you have to decide whether that reason is still valid.  Then again some stuff just appears and sits around, that is the easiest stuff to get rid of.  Now if I could just get the twenty-somethings to move out.....I still have boxes of "treasures" from high school and college!  For some reason, I just can't bear to part with those notes from organic chem or differential equations.  I think this is the year I'm finally going to bite the bullet and toss them out! That's what I did,  I finally got rid of high school and college notes and exams that I had kept.!  I condensed my 'memory box' into literally one plastic tub for storage.  I have made one for each of the kids and that is all the space there is, if it doesn't fit in there, it goes.  I HAVE kept my school photos and report cards though, right from grade 1.

The biggest issue for me is that my mother has endowed me with all the family photos from the late 1800's on.  Literally thousands of photos.  Those I can't bear to get rid of, but I must find a more efficient way of storing them.  I'm working on it.

Hurray and congratulations to declutterers LOL   I used to love "artsy" things but after I got sick, I quit rearranging, dusting etc. and beautiful things just turned into clutter.  Now I am trying to learn ebay to make some money.  I decided to try this before yard sale.  My garage is now very cluttered LOL but I never go down there.

As it has turned out, I am going to try to stay in OR five more years.  I was approved for a loan modification for my home and I will never be able to have such a comfy home for the price I now have to pay.  My family is going to do all they can to make my winter more comfortable.  My brother is buying me one of those chairs that stands you up with heat and massage

I put an ad in craigslist for tutoring and first day I got an ESL student.  I hope it works out as he was very hard to understand on the phone.  Anyway, I will find out Thurs.

Spelunker and all of you photo appreciaters - Photos are precious to me.  I hope when I am gone, my family checks them out and realizes what a wonderful life I have lived.  I put 8 mm film from my childhood and when Kelsey was a baby on tape - now I guess I will have to get it on dvd but how precious those photos are.

It sounds like so many of us have Spring Fever.  Isn't it great

I appreciate all of your feedback.  Sorry if it takes me some time before getting back to you.
