Disability Hearing advice for me too | Arthritis Information

Like Nori, I want advice about what to expect at a Hearing before the judge to get approved for disability. Unlike Nori, who is trying to get well-deserved compensation for her time off work in the past, I am trying to get permanent benefits. I'm only a few years from SS but need income now for rent. I have not worked in over a year, probably never will again, unless I can find an employer who doesn't care if I show up on time, last my 1-3 hours, or even, without advanced notice, cannot work at all that day.

Waddie, the advice you posted on Nori's site was exactly what I want.... a detailed report about what you were asked and how you answered.

I want more like that. Does anybody else remember the experience?

I don't know how you can forget a stressful thing like that, unless you've blocked it from memory because it was traumatic. That's how all public speaking is for me... traumatic. The thought of having to convince a whole panel of people is terrifying to me.  And this is so important for my life, now and all my future! What am I going to do? I do have a disability lawyer who seems committed to helping me, but we haven't had a face-to-face meeting yet so I can't really be sure.  Ugh..I hate this!

Thanks,
CathyMarie
If your attorney is worth his salt, you won't have to say much at all. He'll present your case for you. Really? I won't have to do the talking? (hope-hope-hope)
