bad stiffniss in the morning, some days i can hardly walk due to muscle spasms and sharp stabbing pains in my buttocks, pain inbetween my shoulder blades, dull aching pains down my legs and a pain in my back if i look down and put my chin to my chest. The thing is some days i have no pain and it is great then other days i can hardly move,I have been to the doctors so many times,i have had a mri scan and it didnt show anything,I have also seen a rhuematoligist and he didnt know but when i see him it was on a good day when i was fine. For the last 3 days i have had pains in the sides of my eyes when i look to the side.Does anyone get these symtoms or does anyone have any idea what i have.

you're awfully young to have PMR.  Has the Rheumatologist done a sed rate on you yet?

There are some great educational sites on PMR from the Google search.  I've learned a lot there.

Sounds like you need to fine tune the diagnosis with your doctor.

I'm 57 and recently given the dx of PMR.  I have an elevated sed rate and ANA .  Those can help but there are other tests I hope to have to see if it may be lupus.

I am on prednisone 20mg. which worked well for 2 weeks and I have hit bottom again- aches in should neck and terrible headache now for several days.  Very discouraging to hit bottom again.

Prednisone apparently works very well if you indeed have PMR.  Because it has stopped working for me I wonder about the DX.

Be persistent with your rheumy and share your symptoms clearly with him.  Keep a log of when it is bad and what you did prior with activity diet etc.

Hang in there kiddo

Sure are young to have these problems. Arteritis is related to PMR and
symptoms do include pain in the side of the head (and probably eyes.) A
relative has been treated with prednisone for 8 yr. for it.
FloCan someone please tell me what a sed rate is.  Thanks.

dani-
