Just wondering if Lyrica is just a pain pill for fibro or does it actual make the fibro and stiffness go away?

I started taking it last night. I know it takes awhile for it to really work. Just wondering what I am waiting to happen.

So far no side effects but I am at the lowest dose.
Milly, I take Lyrica and it's helped me a great deal but I take it for neuropathy.  Here's some information with links to other sites:http://arthritis.about.com/od/pregabalin/a/Lyrica.htmHi Milly, like LinB, I took it for neuropathy, but Gabapentin worked better and Endep works better still, hope Lyrica works for you too.  Janie.I take it for neuropathy and some nerve damage from an old surgery. Works wonders! If I had to choose one I can't live without....it's lyrica. Not sure about for fibro....but it's a must have for me.

I take 150mg all at once at night. It makes me a little groogy so I don't take it during the day like some people. Helps me sleep.....so no need for other sleep aids; which I use to need.
Milly - Lyrica does wonders for neuropathy. At first I was taking it primarily for the nerve pain I was experiencing from back issues. I noticed in taking it I felt remarkably better all around, especially on very bad pain days. After my back problems resolved a bit, I continued to take it periodically whenever I was having one of those days. What I didn't realize was a lot of my pain I was experiencing was caused by Fibromyalgia (which I hadn't been diagnosed with yet). I started to question why the Lyrica was helping
pain that Lortab wasn't touching. I switched rheumatologists a couple of months ago and he immediately diagnosed me with fibromyalgia in addition to RA, something my original rheumatologist failed to do because he doesn't believe in fibro (jerk). Of course it finally made sense why the Lyrica was helping pain that Lortab didn't since opiates do not touch fibro pain, at least not for me. I am not so bad that I have to take it all of the time. I take it when I am feeling particularly bad. I am interested in the other two drugs Janie mentioned too. Hope this helps.
