Anyone Take Lyrica? | Arthritis Information

I have been taking Lyrica for almost a couple of weeks now. I have to gradulely increase my dosage one pill every 3 days. So far I just started 75mg last night.

I was told to take it 2 hours before bedtime. So, I have. I noticed that after almost an hour after taking it, I feel kinda "weird". I mean my mind feels goofy. I tend to be more playful and laugh easier and think things are way too funny when they are not. I joke around with hubby, but the jokes are more for my amusement than his

Hubby thinks I have lost it.

It is kinda like a euphoria. I just seem really really happy for no reason at all.

does anyone get this way or notice they might be like this after taking their Lyrica?
I wish I had that response to Lyrica, it sounds kinda fun (as long as you are in a controlled environment, that is I just started four days ago. Feeling high can be a side effect. Check out the sight for Lyrica.
I am also being tapered on to the meds. I think I am starting slower because of my allergic history. So far so good. I am taking one in the morning and one at night so far. Also Flexeril at night and vicoden. I am so stiff arghhh. Well it is keeping me from screaming at the moment.
How many pills a day are you taking? And how far apart do you take them?

I have noticed that I am a bit spacier. Just a bit of forgetfulness. The first pill when I took it I thought I felt a we bit high for about twenty minutes. I agree that the pain pills and muscle relaxers add to the feeling. If the Lyrica works well enough when I get to the proper dose maybe I will not need the vicoden so much any more.

Also how dose the Robaxin work for you? Does it make you tired. Does relax your muscles well? I was about to start it and we decided to try the Lyrica instead. Doc said he never starts two new meds at the same time. So you know which is causing the side effects or in case of allergies.

I need a day time muscle relaxer so badly but the flexeril makes me sleep so I only take it at night. Also I think the Lyrica gives me insomnia until I take the Flexeril.
Yep, it's a schedule IV controlled substance (same class as xanax, valium, etc).  Do be careful when combining it with opiates and other stuff that can make you drowsy/clumsy/etc. I've taken Lyrica for years and I agree that tapering it is the best way to start (or stop).  Joonie, I did not have the particular side effect you mentioned, but I found that the side effects I had (drowsiness, dizziness, spaciness) subsided within a few weeks.  Wait it out if you can, because it is a powerful med that can help considerably. No, but good luck.i don't get that high feeling; but it does relax me and can easily fall asleep a couple hours after taking it. I take 150mg per night....not at all during the day. Seriously I thought it would be more like an antideppresant. Like Cymbalta. I sleept till 2 pm. Yesterday was the first day I took two pills. Well there was only time for one today. My neck is killing me. LOL I am on vacation in a hotel. Went to get breakfast brought it back to the room and feel asleep without eating it.
Arghh my neck is killing me.

Went to get breakfast brought it back to the room and feel asleep without eating it.   Double check the side effects and also double check the contraindications with other medications specifically antidepressants and tranqs.  If there's any doubt call your doctor and talk to them about taking both meds.  It works great for me.  LindyI am sure my problems with this medication have to do with contradictions. That is too many meds. I am in a bad place right now. This to will pass. Just a bad full body fibro attack. I had gone a year and a half without muscle relaxers. There were days when I may have really needed one, very badly. I just waited it out. This is a more lingering problem. I have been taking flexeril for the past month. Back and neck problems tend to effect the whole body. I have lived threw it before more times then I care to think about. I am sure the medicine would not effect me so much if I could cut back on some of the other meds. It just isn't that time just yet.Hang in there Milly - like you said, this too will pass! Joonie where are you? How is the Lryica working for you?Joonie had said her internet connection was probably going away in the middle of this month... I wonder if that time has come?
