Question about Methotrexate and Folic Acid | Arthritis Information

It's Sunday night and the pharmacy is closed. I can ask the pharmacist this question tomorrow, but I was hoping someone could answer it tonight. My husband has been taking Methotrexate for the past year for his PSA. He also takes folic acid every day to counteract the side effects. My question is, is he supposed to take the folic acid on the day he takes the Methotrexate? We're a little confused. He thinks he supposed to. I didn't think he was. Thanks for the help! I take 1 mg Folic Acid every day....... even on MTX day.Like Babs, I take Folic Acid (3 mg) every day including MTX day.

Different physicians have different scheduling protocols. Checking directly with the prescribing physician is always the best policy.  Thanks! Hey, I got in touch with the doctor's office. David is supposed to take the folic acid on the day he takes Methotrexate. He's been taking it properly all along. Thanks!
How's David doing with his treatment?  We're always interested in how one is responding to treatment?  Hope all is well.  LindyThank you for asking. David is terrible. He's just getting worse. The MTX isn't helping. We have rapid weather changes here in North Texas and the barometric pressure changing really agravates his pain. If we don't get Humira soon, we're going to have to move to Arizona. We just can't go on living like this. I'll keep you posted.
