Why do we get fevers?? | Arthritis Information

Ok so I over did it. I set up an art show for an entire school on Friday, then this weekend I painted a room and the  molding, painted a furniture set and helped hubby carry it all up and down the stairs.

Needless to say I am paying for it now.

But my question is why in the world do we get fevers??  I had a low grade fever last night and I always get one when the RA acts up.

Ok am I seeing things??? Why does my post say it was written my mrs pincushion? What is going on???
Ok never mind that was really weird. cah14182009-05-11 10:38:45

I dont see it...sorry.  I hope it you are not being hijacked.

I get mild fevers too, its to do with inflamation i think...

I never get a fever....even when I've been extremely sick with an infection. My GP tends to thing my medication mask it. Every time I get a flare I also run a low grade fever.  I believe it's nothing to be concerned about, but you could ask your doctor next time you have an appt.

It just stinks because it makes me feel like I have the flu and it gives me headaches everytime. ugh 2 flares in a few weeks. Looks like I may need to go to the doctors. There is a reason that, at least sometimes, the aches, pains, low-grade fever, lethargy and malaise of RA are colloquially known as RA flu. while my daily temp is "below normal" I do have an escalating temp when I am having a difficult time of it..  but it usually brings me to normal range... which I think is so unusual and odd.Like you, Babs, my "normal" temperature is in sub-normal 97.2-98 (and on occasion even lower...). I have found that when my Sjögren's Syndrome is at its worst I can spike a temp of up to 103. During RA flare episodes my temp hovers around 99-100.6, just enough to sap my daytime energy and wreck havoc with nighttime sleep. bump
