Worried | Arthritis Information

In the last year i have filled my body with chemo now i have to decide if i want to recieve an infusion of Rituxin...I am so worried..I wish there was once course of treatment and me healed...im just lost and worried......

Buddy, you've come to the wrong place for support. Most of the people in here are pretty vicious and come to this board to hurt other people. I'm sorry for your situation but I suggest you seek help in a supportive and sympathetic RA forum.Hi Ivy, I don't blame you I'd be worried also. Have you sought a second opinion? Are there any other of the dmards and biologics that you can take? I don't remember your RA history. Are all of your doctors in agreement with you starting Rituxin, including your oncologist? Are your physicians in contact with one another and is this a course of action that has been mutually agreed upon?

What kind of RA response have you had to your chemotherapy courses?

I've had RA for over 30 yrs now. Before I was diagnosed I seldom took any meds, but to manage the RA I've had to take different meds over time, from gold shots, plaquenil, mtx, remicade, humira, to now enbrel.

Its hard to make these decisions, but try to find as much info as you can. There are people on this forum that are on rituxan and are seeing good results. So perhaps consider reposting with the topic "questions about rituxan" something like that.

When I was diagnosed back in the 70s, there weren't the RA meds that are now available, there were few choices back then to treat RA. I know its frustrating and anxiety provoking, but try to see the positive in having a choice.

There are people here that are very empathetic and understanding, and will offer the support and encouragement to help get you through what you have to get through.

We all struggle with the ups and downs of this disease, but with the right drug program, and with the support from friends and folks at forums like AI, we manage and cope.

I don't know much about chemo & RA infusions.....but I wanted to wish you well; and encourage you to stay positive....look at all you've been through. This RA stuff is just another challange that you'll have to face and you have it with in you to do it. Stay strong!

AND; the majority of the folks here are supportive.....and you know that. You don't post much, but you've been around long enough to know what's what.

I noticed you haven't posted again. I hope you are doing okay, and aren't staying away because of that one reply.

You are dealing with so much -- chemo, and now having to decide about rituxan, its not fair that so much is sometimes piled on us. But when things do get overwhelming, reach out for support, post again, there are many here concerned about you.

I can understand your worry, you are really dealing with so much. Don't give up and you can ALWAYS find support here. Have you tried meditation? It may help so that the worry you carry does not become all consuming, which can make you sicker. I am sending your healing thoughts and prayers. Best wishes to you, and we are here for you.
