Friday night I took my methotrexate 20 mg, I felt fine Saturday and Sunday, Monday morning I felt like I had been hit by a truckI don't know anything about MTX but I'm sure there are others who do.  Good luck.Yes. Even an increase of just one more pill always affected me that way. It will ease up as your body adjusts. When I first started mtx, I had the same side effects, just add in some headache to the blend. It eventually all went away. Oh, it only lasted part of the day. I started taking them in the evening and generally by the next day the bad effects were gone, I slept them away. Good luck.Good luck again.No- I do very well on all my meds.  I am very fortunate to have only minor nusiances. MTX makes me feel tired for a few days after my dose but it never stops me from what I have to do.I usually have a day (usually on the second day following my dose) where I need to rest for most of the day. Sometimes I feel fluish, but usually just really exhausted. I take 22.5 mgs. Mae Mae,

I haven't taken MTX for a long time.  If memory serves me correctly, once I reached 12.5 mg, I was always tired the day after I took it.  Are you taking Folic Acid to help off-set the side effects?

Yes, I take folic acid daily.

Sometimes it makes me fatigued but for the most part my body has adjusted and I don't feel any differently or have side effects.  If you increase your dose you may have extra fatigue but your body will adjust.  I know you're tired from the meds but the best advice I can give you is to work through it.  Keep going.  If you have the luxury of taking it easy afterwards then do it but I found that I did better if I kept to my schedule.  Even though I'm retired I still try and not let my meds effect me on a day to day basis.  I could easily give in but physically and emotionally that's not an option for me.  You may do great with your next dosing.  Lindy  LinB2009-05-14 12:43:44 worth it!  Lindy is right, don't give in, keep going! If the high dose of MTX bothers you too much some people do the shots. It may have less side effects. When I was taking it, I always felt beat down the next couple of days. It eventually got a bit better - adding Enbrel helped. (Not on either one now. Figures, huh? LOL)
Try to push through it if you can, cause the drug could help ya. Make sure you let your doc know about the side effects, too.

I also took mine at night. I felt the same as Lev. I slept away any side effects. Good advice.

Best Wishes
