I was planning on going off my enbrel so that i could be ready for remicade. yesterday my joints started to get bad...tonight they are HORRIBLE, like can barely walk horrible. i thought its cause i stopped enbrel and maybe it acutally works. BUT nope i missed one day of enbrel thats it, i missed my dose by a day, so i really dont think its from te enbrel. i feel absolutely horrible. remicade couldnt come faster, it better work. Oh sweetie I am so sorry. When do you get to start the remicade? I take it the tramadol isn't helping? On a Saturday night. I wish I could help.tramadol is not working. i have no clue when remicade will be starting.....but it couldnt be starting soon enough. im going to a pain specialist next weekGood for you. I see a pain specialist June 2nd. what do they do? i dont want narcotics, im already ont tramadol, what else can they do?Tens and some not all can give you shots and sort of manuver you around like a chiropracter. Depends on exactly what kind of doctor you see. Well I am not exactly sure scince I do not go until June 2nd. But that is what I heard. Maybe even some physical therapy. Have you ever had a tens machine? I don't like the ones at the doctors office as much as I had a portable once that I could use at home. I could adjust the settings until I got it just right. LOL Just when I had it working right the insurance company refused to pay for it and I had to send it back.So I guess instead of going here there and yonder they can do alot of different things in one place. I really do not think they will push you for pain pills. I started taking Lyrica I did not think I liked it at first. But I am really getting used to it. It is working great. I am awake more and more active. My brain is actually functioning pretty well also. I was scared I would be to drugged feelling to work. I really want to go back to work more than anything. So I understand your fears and feellings on the pain subject. I am starting to think opptomistically today. I am getting around pretty well.thats great. i have tried lyrica already. im all u for PT an all, but im already pretty active, i dance and stuff and walk around campus a ton, guess ill see next week right! It sounds like you're in a miserable flare. I'm so sorry!! Hopefully the pain clinic will be able to work some miracles for you to get you comfortable while the Remicade starts doing it's job. Have you spoke with your doc about the Rem start date? If the pain gets too be to much (which it sounds like you're already at that point), get yourself to the ER. They might be able to get you something via IV that helps in the interim. I started getting shots in my right shoulder. It is my right arm I use it alot. At first I thought it was silly. My entire body hurts what was the use to get my shoulder working and still be misserable. So now I have something finally controlling my pain and I can do dishes and lift things again. I can go down the stairs pretty quickly. I take a muscle relaxer at night. Flexeril. Every little bit helps. So if the pain specalist can help a little more. I may be back to work in no time. I was always a workaholic. Thats what makes me happy. im a workalholic also. tried lyrica as well. had cortizone shots previous summers, but since so many joints are affected they have to do a systemic injection...cant just treat one joints cause my biggest issues are ankles, kness, fingers, wrists, and elbows, o and hips..... so yea done antidepressents for pain, lyrica, flexeril, ummm some others i cant remember. i just hope remicade works! Good luck! I hope the remicade works well and soon. I am going to go lay down. My flexeril is kicking in.I've been seeing a pain dr. for a about a year. He is great. I get nerve block injections to help with the worst areas. Also a TENS. PT will be helpful since they can use ultrasound and other methods to break up inflammation.just interjecting a little here; RE: enbrel.......  I DO find that toward the end of my injection cycle I am swelling more -- even before I actually have to do my shot again.... and now this month with having had to stop for three weeks due to eye surgery, I am in bad shape on the knees, ankles and wrists with alot more finger  involvement than in the previous months........

Wish you well on remicade, mermaid
I am sorry you are having such a rotten time LM.  Are you through with school?  Maybe the pressure of finals is having an effect?  Hopefully, the Remicade and the summer will be your ticket to feeling better.
