http://h1n1.nejm.org/?emp=marcomIt is spreading fast in NYC, mostly middle school children. They are also concerned that this flu will "marry" with a regular flu and become resistant to treatment.

The ER's are jammed with children as parents are panic'ing. It is causing a huge backlog for any kind of ER treatment and most children are just sent home. The one hospital has sent up a tent, outside for children with flu symptoms.

They continue to encourage learning good handwashing techniques and calling your doctor if you get symptoms.

Guess its hard to tell if it is serious or not. A toddler has died but it turned out he did not have the swine flu.I think the tent outside is an excellent idea! keep the bug out of the hospitals if at all possible until it can be contained knowing the person is ill with the flu and can be treated as highly infective.....

Yes we will not know if we are out of the woods with this thing until next fall when the secound round of the flu hits. Hope it doesn't mutate. Keep your fingers crossed and your hands washed.
