You know, there are just too many possibilities as to what today's problem is due to.

I had a bad night with sweating spells, feeling hot, post-nasal drip w/cough, not fun dreams. I finally got up made hot tea and worked at my desk, got so tired I was dizzy, went back to bed, more bad dreams. I do not feel like I have a cold coming on, I have no fever which really surprised me this morning, now the sweating is gone and I'm ice-cold and have odd abdominal+back aching. I'm actually aching all-over, but that might be my everyday Great Fatigue just starting to hit me earlier since I didn't sleep well.

Either I really do have a virus and my poor adrenals are working overtime, I am having menopausal symptoms despite the Premarin I've been on for years since total hysto(no ovaries) or it's something about RA. I don't take Prednisone (vivid memories of those night-sweats).
The only thing that happened differently was that yesterday I forgot to take my Ultram ER 100mg. Can missing one dose cause withdrawal?

I hope this stops because tomorrow evening is my sister's big party for my niece's graduation from San Francisco State University (magna sum laude!!). My sister is crazy for theme parties so this is to be a Hawaiian luau--ha! I'm going to wear my sort of Hawaiian blue & white top (-walmart), white jeans, white hoop earrings+bracelet(to hide MedicAlert)a flower in my hair and I bet a leii will be put on me when I arrive. There will be BBQ+a table full of food, umbrella drinks(non-alc for me), and get this... a cake that we will all gather to watch the volcano explode (I hope it's just dry ice frosting!). Silly sis! Oh, and of course...presents and photos with the honored graduate.

Wish me luck that this mystery illness ends by tonight.

Let us know. When I flare I can go from hot to cold. So either you have a virus. Or you have a virus and a flare. Hope it passes quickly whatever it is.  The party sounds like a blast.  Theme parties can be fun and if it's a silly theme (not that Hawaiian is silly) everyone looks silly together.CathieMarie,

Hate to say it but it kinda sounds like the flu. Sure doesn't sound like any accumulative ra symptoms. I wouldn't mess around with it. If you run a fever, run to urgent care, my very unprofessional opinion. good luck with it, and okay, wish it ends tonight.

I agree - sounds like you caught yerself a virus.  Get better soon! It's days later now... that bad episode remains a mystery. I don't think it was an actual flu because I was completely over it in just 30 hours; whenever I have had a flu or even a headcold, it lasts at least a week. The first thing to stop was the post-nasal drip/little cough. The sweating spells and awful body aches continued until I awoke on Sunday. After breakfast and a shower, I felt just like my normal-since RA usually does.

That made it possible for me to go to my niece's graduation party... yaaay! My sister provided a lei for each guest and decorated her house and yard up the kazoo!  The volcano cake erupted perfectly and my 88yr old mom taught a whole line of twentysomethings in grass skirts how to hula (she takes a class at senior center... for her circulation and fun). There was a list posted of the hawaiian version of everybody's name ie Cathy = Kaka (oh great...that's how I often feel!)  I hobbled around with my cane, sat a lot but talked and laughed a lot too and it's documented on photos. I miss so much these days, that when I'm able to be there, I make sure I'm in pictures so it looks like I was around for practically every event.

No reoccurance of that mystery illness and no change in meds, so I don't know what to think about it except that I'm glad it's gone.
Lots of annoying little viruses out there that cause just a day or two of misery.  One is sweeping through my house right now.  My oldest son was ill for about a day and a half; I've got it now, so I should be better by tomorrow.  I hope the husband doesn't get it - like most viruses, I'm sure this one hits men much harder than women.  Poor things get so disabled that about the only thing they're capable of is playing videogames or watching SportsCenter (or whatever it's called).
