I went to my family doctor on thursday.  she was shocked to see my deterioating condition.  I went to her because I had cold.   And I was so happy.  My nose was blocked. U   may be wondering why???  because I have not cold or any viral or flu from five years..

Now I know why??  RA

She is sending me to orthopedic surgeon because my foot is not getting any better.  My right knee is swollen above my knee??  Any body has this symptom.  uptill now I had pain only at the back of knee.  I was thinking foot is the biggest problem, LOL, knee ra sucks.  I feel like amputating my leg.  Can't able to straighten it completely.  Do u guys ice or use heat. I need some range of motion exercises.  if somebody found a good site let me know.

My neck does not turn side to side.  It has less range of motion.  I think I have to thank ra for this neck problem.  I am coughing right now and I am assuming it because of cold.  But I read somewhere cough is a symptom of lung problems too.  How can we distinguish between them?

I want to thank all the seniors, sincerely, who have provided so much knowledge and insight to help newbies
You need to see a rheumatologist now!!!!  Call your family doctor and see if she can get you in sooner to see the RD.  You can alternate ice and heat for your  knee.  The most important thing you can do is to see the RD.  LindyHi
I agree with Lin that you need to call your rheumatologist.  One of the things you will have to decide is which of your doctor's will take the lead on your RA issues.  In my case my rheumatolgist deals with all things RA-presrictions, referrals, med monitoring etc.  If my PCP believes there should be adjustments I have her call my rheumy so that both are in agreement.

A chest x'ray can tell you what is going on with your lungs...if you have a cold the odds are the cough is related to that.
You may have a ruptured bakers cyst which would account for the swelling in the back of the knee moving around to the front.
No matter what else is going on you need to work with your rheumy to gain better control
I agree with Lin that you need to call your rheumatologist.
If I remember correctly, you also have beta thalessemia.  How many of your symptoms might be related to B-thalessemia? Is your hæmotologist and your rheumatologist, along with your PCP, collaborating in/on your treatment program and therapy? Has anyone suggested a pulmonary function test and/or a CT scan: have you had a chest x-ray (you have had that cought for what, four or five weeks now)? If memory serves B-thalessemia can, and often does, result in small airway disease.

RA complicated by B-thalessemia requires a team of physicians all working together in harmony. If each of your physicians is treating you autonomously, at least from my point of view, your treatment is being compromised.

Best wishes, Shug
Veenu, you have gotten great advice so I will only add don't fiddle around with this any longer... go get on the medication you need to control this!  Remember early aggressive treatment is the best route to remission.  If I had such sound advice when I was first diagnosed, maybe I wouldn't be where I am now.

I am sorry for your pain, we all know how rough it can be.  Please do everything you can to get to the RD soon.

Take care and I hope your days get better soon!
