Hey everyone!!! To the new people welcome to the board and to the "old timers" I have missed you!! I am sorry I haven't been around but work is getting into full swing now with all the litters of kittens and puppies being dropped off at the shelter, we are coming into our busy season now. I have extra work with the new computer program that by the time I get home, get dinner on the table and clean up I want to fall down!!hehehehe I am working in the yard but I am not going all out this year I am moving plants around and splitting up the irises but except for getting some vegie plants and my herb plants I have not put any florals in this year. My other perennials have gone crazy in growth this year so I am thinning out the herd a little at a time. In MI the weather had been a little bit on the cooler side and it has been affecting my hands and back so I am taking it slow but am making progress on the gardens. Rachel will graduate from 8th grade and will be a high school freshman next fall. It is hard to believe my little baby is a teenaager. I am hoping everyone is doing well and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend take care and xoxoxox meme [waves] Hi back at you! Well hello Meme!  I am Waddie, nice to meet you!  It sounds as if you have your hands full!  I just love irises!  My earliest garden memory is of me and my grandmother planting an iris bed together!  I am glad you are doing so very well and I hope you continue to do so! Hey Meme!!  it's been awhile, glad to see ya Meme, Hi and welcome back.  I've missed the shelter stories.  Sounds like you're doing well and even if we don't plan on gardening, somehow it manages to consume us.  Keep us posted, we missed you.  LindyHi Meme, you are sounding good, which is always wonderful to hear. It's nice when RA doesn't consume our lives and you sound like you have lot's of great stuff in your life going on. You would be too exhausted after all that to even look at a computer but it is nice to hear how your doing. Our kids grow up fast and drag us along for the ride with them. Lol.

Hi Meme!! We've missed you girlfriend!! I think of you often; especially while I'm in my garden. I don't think I realized you were working at the shelter either. That sounds like a neat job. Glad to hear you are doing well.

Take care....and check in with us when you can. We've missed you!
Thanks everyone I do miss being here I am going to have to try to check and see what is going on here on a more regular basis. We are starting to see more people bringing in their pets to us because they can't afford them or they are leaving the state which in MI is not suprising. We are a shelter that does put down animals after a certain amount of time. We do not have the facilities to hold all those animals. In the summer in 3 months we can have about 1000 or more cats alone come through our front door and there is no way we can find homes for all those cats. In our county there is a about 9 cats for every 1 dog, there is so many!! We are lucky if we can get a quarter of those cats adopted. Being a county shelter we can't afford a vet on staff and of course none of the vets want to volunteer their services. It is an interesting job, and the day goes by so fast. Take care xoxoxox meme Hey meme! Great to hear from you- please don't be a stranger! Hi meme... I am CathyMarie, rather new here. I want a dog sooooo bad! My wonderful little Sunny died in January.  I babysat my granddog, rat terrier, Ema, a few weeks ago for a weekend and enjoyed it so much. Now, I am typing this with a different granddog, Nobi, a little Chihuahua-Dachsund-Min Pincher (a Chihuaoxiepin!) asleep on my lap. I'm in heaven. I've had him 2 weeks and have to give him back to his mommy since my daughter returned from her business trip a week ago and is sooo lonesome without him. I don't want to give him back! It's been a great experience; DH is so crazy over him too that he is now totally accepting a smaller dog than we had before. She was only 15lbs but with RA, it was just too hard when she was ill at the end. I need a littler dog, so I can lift it myself. This little guy is 9lbs which is really good. A tiny dog would scare me for fear of tripping over it and hurting it (or me if I fall). I like this 8-10lb size. Hubby says we should go see the shelters on Tues. We'll see, we may be moving in a few months. We either need to get it now so I have time to get it to bond with us and trained or wait until we move. Pets are such marvelous therapy! When my granddogs sleep with me, I can let go for my nap without tv on. Since Jan, I've had to have the noise on to interfere with me thinking about missing Sunny. Sorry for the rambling.... this doggie hunger is almost obsessive. I do find having one around is a delightful distraction from my chronic conditions (to a point).

So, basically, my favorite med is Dog.... Brand name (purebred) or Generic (shelter mix).
