lab tests | Arthritis Information

Has anyone heard of a new test for RA? My doctor told me about it, she gave me this kit to take to the lab and after my blood was drawn it was sent off somewhere in CA, I think San Diego but dont remember for sure.

Also, I am on Plaquenil for approx. two months now. My middle two fingers are crooked now. And I know this sounds odd but lately I noticed on my one middle finger at the almost tip there is a slight indentation (dont know how else to describe it). Its lke the bone there is eroded or gone or something ,oddest thing. Anyone else have this happen to them? I will show my rheummy when I go in next time.

I posted on this about a month ago. My RD gave me this new test too. It took me a couple weeks to track it down. It's called Avise MCV and the only lab that does this test is in CA. You can read more about it at http://www.avisetest.com/Patients/Services/AviseMCV.html.

Unfortunately, my test came back negative, so no answers for me. Sorry to hear about your crooked fingers. Sounds like time for an MRI perhaps?
