PMR and cortisone injections | Arthritis Information

I have had PMR for almost 2 years now, started aug 1st - 2007.   Just wandering if anyone else has had the cortisone injections and has helped with the PMR.    I have had shoulder and neck pain even before this PMR hit and my RA has started giving me the injections and it gives me huge relief for about a month and does not seem to have the side effects of preds.   Just wandering if anyone has tried this for PMR.   I went to a pain management clinic and the Doc there gave me an injection in my neck about 3 weeks ago and it seems that the PMR has all but vanished.  It may be temp, but is sure is great to move without any pain and actually get up from a chair easily without the soreness.   Also I can walk now without pain, actually did 4 miles last night!hi, that is interesting.  i wonder have you had a sed. rate done and what does it run.?  i am still trying to understand this ailment.  it will be a year in july, and it has taken over my life, but slowly but surely i seem to be getting better and tapering more off the pred. course i take a slew of supplements, so i don't really know which one might be making me better.I think the highest my sed rate has been was in the 40s when this PMR first started, it took about 3 months for me to figure out what it was.   Pain and soreness was terrible when it it me overnight, I could not turn over in bed without a lot of pain and took considerable time to do this simple task.   I was taking 5 mg of pred but I went off about a week ago and seem to be doing fine.   My sed rate has been way down since i have been on the preds, i think the last time it was 28.   Hope this helps.
