Well I haven't been here for  a while.  I'm still taking MTX, folic acid and pred.  I was just approved for Enbrel.  I go in next Thursday for my class and first injection.  I opted for the Sure-click dispenser rather than the syringe.  Was this the best choice?  I'm kinda scared to give myself shots but I need more help.  I am feeling 90% better than i did this time last year before I started the meds.  I have at least gained 11 pounds and no pain except when I walk my feet and ankles hurt.  My rhemy said he is sure they will feel better when i start enbrel.  Did enbrel help anyone here with their feet and ankle pain?  thank to all.enbrel was a help with all my discomforts!!  I wish you well Aleva!Did the injections hurt?  Which one do you use, the syringe or the sure-click?

Hi Aleva - I've been on enbrel for almost two years now and it did make a difference, so I wish you the best.   I use sureclick - a little sting, but it's over in about 15 seconds.  A class is a great idea to attend for your first one.  They should give you great tips.  I inject in my thigh, but others say belly has less sting.    Good luck on Thursday  - let us know how it goes.

Thanks Cathy.  I hope it helps my aching feet and ankles.  I would love to be able to walk a little better and enjoy some of the summer.  Good luck to you too.Enbrel brought me back to practically normal.  I hope it works as well for you as it does me.  I use the Sureclick too, but I can't compare it to the other as I've never used the regular syringe with Enbrel.  It stings me a bit too, but I agree that 15 seconds of stinging is well worth the benefits of taking it.  It does leave an itchy red spot at the injection site, but it only lasts a couple of days and it isn't a big deal.  Good luck Aleva....hope you'll be tap dancing in no time.  :)Aleva, I like doing the injection in the belly, less sting there for me.  You might also want to see a podiatrist about your feet and ankles.  Mine does injections and that helps me to get on my feet and going again!  Take care and dream of dancing! Oh I use to love to dance.  I chair dance now.
As for your foot and ankle problems, you should see a specialist.  The specialist can give you steriod injections and he/she also has all kinds of braces, pads, and other contraptions that might help.  I saw an ortho doc for my foot and ankle problems.  I hope you find the hlep you need!

Good News Alevea. I'm sure it's going to work great for you. I use Humira and have used both the quick pends and the regular syringes. Personally I prefer the regular syringes; but my husband gives me mine. If I had to do it by myself the pens would be easier. Thanks Lovie, as I am stiff as a board in my feet and ankles today.  There are so many things I want to do but will be lucky to get my Sunday dinner cooked.Hi Aleva,

I have been on Enbrel for about 7 months now and I love it.  I use the regular syringe and inject in my belly.  If you leave the shot out on the counter for 30 minutes or so it doesn't sting too badly.  Also, the syringe allows me to set the speed of the enbrel going in and I do it rather slowly.  Good luck to you....HG
Aleva....Just want to wish you well!!  Enbrel was a fantastic drug for me.  I was on it about seven years  until it eventually just didn't work as well.  I injected in the stomach with the conventional syringe....worked easily for me.  I had an immediate response the day after my first injection......I hope you have the same!!
