what if Enbrel don't work? | Arthritis Information
my husband has AS and he is on his 2nd week of enbrel,what happens if he is still in lots of pain?what do we do?Call his doctor. I don't know how long it takes for Enbrel to work for AS. Remember Enbrel isn't a pain medication, it's a biologic that works slowly over a period of time. Is he taking anything for the pain? LindyI'm going through the same thing right now with my husband - he's had JRA since the age of 8. Now he's 30 and has done enbrel once before with success -> then insurance quit paying -> back to plaquenil, etc.....
Now, we have insurance to pay for enbrel but he still has lots of breakthrough pain which is so severe. He's been on enbrel for almost a year and has an appointment with his Rhem. in a few weeks to discuss treatment. Is there anyone out there that failed with enbrel but had success with something else?
