Sick and Enbrel | Arthritis Information

I have had a cold but took my Enbrel shot yesterday anyway.  I did this as I have read many times others still getting their Enbrel injections with a cold.  My hubby who has been actually living with me the last two weeks

Two weeks later I was back twice as sick as before and in the end I was off my meds for an entire month trying to get over it. The first time I was in I just had a "touch" of a sinus infection but my doctor gets me on an antibiotic right away due to my condition. ANYWAY when I went back I had a full blown sinus infection AND bronchitis.

I'm not one to jump the gun and discontinue use of my meds at every sign of a cold, but I am one to quickly make an appointment with my GP if I suspect anything that could delay my meds. I only go off when my doctor recommends it.

You've gotten sick alot since starting biologics Rox. Will different things. You've been off and on several times in your short period of time on Enbrel. I know what a difference you believe it's making for you; but don't forget Enbrel is not the only medication out there for this condition. Be honest with your doctor so he can help you make an informed decision as to what's best for you. Not all medications agree with everyone. You're living proof of this with your experience with MTX.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Lovie.  I don't feel horrible, just hoarse and get tired.  I have an rd appt tomorrow.  I will talk to him about maybe antibiotics.  I know it sounds irrational but Lovie - I AM SO ATTACHED TO ENBREL.  It makes me feel so good.  I have taken hardly any painkillers the last ten days.  I just know if I can get the three months in - I have six weeks now - I just want to see what the full effect will be.  I will talk to doc.  One good thing is my sinus are fine and my lungs do not feel congested.  I will let you know.

Hopefully now all that has evened out and you'll be able to get on a steady track.

More than likely it's nothing and won't prevent you from taking your meds. It's good though that you'll see your RD tomorrow and he'll be able to confirm that.

Here is a new one Lovie.  I am losing a tooth - a baby tooth that I kept for fifty years

Yeah; it can be a problem.....but that's a huge phobia for me.
