Your legs and the toilet | Arthritis Information

Ok... so when I sit on the toilet my legs get a weird sensation like tingling and pain all rolled into one. It does it almost as soon as I sit down... or should I say plop down. I do not have this problem when I am sitting on a couch, chair or in the car. Only the toilet.

Anyone have this happen to them?
the seat could be putting pressure on nerves joonie.  sometimes if I sit for more than a couple of minutes my legs go all tingly too.  I think it is the hole in the seat and pressure being distributed differently from other seats.

Hi Joonie, yes this does happen to me, I think it is because we are sitting lower (crouching) and in my case my feet go numb after the pins and needles so I think it is nerve entrapment coming from my spine, is your spine OK?  On sitting on a couch etc, it can happen but not every time like the toilet.  You should get it checked.  My Drs have told me also to watch for changing toilet habits because if there is difficulty going to no.1 and 2, that can also be nerve encroachment on the spinal canal, and that becomes an urgent matter of course.  Please get it checked, just the next time you see your GP.  Hugs Janie.

Oh my God!  Please tell me you didn't just post this.  What a totally fukking stupid thing to post.  Who gives a sh*t what happens to you when you sit on a toilet?  Jesus!  I have an idea, why don't you stick your head in the toilet and FLUSH!

Please, there is just no end to these stupid, childish posts!

toilet seats are hard and hit right where the sciatic nerve runs down the back of the leg...get a padded toilet seat and the problem goes away

Thanks for the replies! I am not sure if anything wrong with my spine. I did have a nuclear bone scan a year back and not much up take except in my SI joints. Been having a real time with those 2 joints being inflammed lately. It is what else causes the lower back spasms.

I do have nerve damage in my legs. It is probably getting worse with all this chronic inflammation that just will not go away!

Thanks buckeye! I will see if we can find a padded toilet seat for my toilet. Seems like when we bought the toilet they did not have any padded toilet seats in my toilets size.
