Arthritis Information -Removal of Rheumatoid Nodule

Wish I could help you but I have not had any nodules. Hope yours heals soon.I had what my rheumatologist thought was a large gangolin cist ( on my wrist)removed  back before Thanksgiving 2005.  The pathology report indicated that it was a rheumatoid nodule. The problem is that the site of the surgery started to fill with fluid after the surgery had healed. The surgeon has drained it, but now it won't heal. It has been ozzing for at least two months. It is not infected, it just drains all the time. I have to keep bandages on it.  It will stop  sometimes but fills up and breaks open again.  My surgeon says he dosen' know what to do to stop it. Has anyone had a similiar experience? I had several nodules afew years ago.  I had alot of problems with one elbow.  This older lady (sorta of the great grandma type) told me to soak it in epson salt and warm water twice a day.  It really did work on mine , stopped swelling and quit draining about 4 days later.  Good luck anything is worth a try !
