My RA rantings | Arthritis Information

To stop from cluttering up the board with my rantings. I will just post them here.

First rant... My hubby & daughter want me to get a handicap placard. I REFUSE to get one. My daughter said you would get to park closer and not walk so far. Hubby said the same thing. I kinda blew up on them and told them I was not getting one because they are too lazy to walk that far to the doors. Which is what I figure they wanted it for anyways. Not because it will make me closer to the door. It would not help me to be closer to the door if I already should not be out and about and trying to walk around. And then I reminded hubby that I did not want one because I view the long drawn out walk to the doors and around the store as my exercise. But is it really exercise if you have limited ROM in both your legs and knees and you can bearly pick your feet off the floor?

Second rant... why the heck do people wave you on after you have waved them to go ahead? Saturday... I "walked" in a store and 2 people on different aisles asked me if I was "ok" and needed some help. I was not even in the store for 5 mins. I told them no I was fine. So after the second person asked the redundant questions I told hubby to give me the keys and to the car I went. I noticed a car was coming down from the other parking lot to the one I was on, and I did not want to "walk" out infront of them to make them wait from me to get across to the other side. So... I stood in the middle of the sidewalk closer to the store door than the road waiting for them to go by. they stopped and waited for me to cross! I waved them to go, they then waved me to go. I muttered all the way across the walk to the other side. So since they had to "wait" on me they had to wait for 3 more groups of people that came out behind me after they waved me to cross. I HATE THAT!

Third rant... if I say I REFUSE to walk around in stores until I am actually able to do an action that kinda resembles actual walking, do not tell me we are going to 3 different stores and then get upset when I refuse to get out of the car at any of them.
