Got MRI results

Back to Arthritis Information >Got MRI results > Next Topic

I had a great rd appt. today.  RD said I have no new damage since I have been on Enbrel.  He also said he was "impressed" with how well I am doing.  I am going back on mtx.  I was having my blood taken too close to when I took my mtx and that is why my liver enzymes were raised.  He said to have blood tests taken day before you take mtx. He also said I should take darvocet for morning stiffness and after activity.  He said taking 2-3 darvocet a day will not harm you or raise liver enzymes.  Darvocet really are like aspirin for me.   Also, I talked to him about dental work.  I have to have a tooth pulled   He said I should go off the Enbrel one week prior to dentist appt.  just in case.  Also, he is giving me a cortisone injection in my hip joint next month to help me return to work   I may only return half time depending on cortisone shot results.  If so, he is sending me to vocational therapy.

I don't know much about vocational therapy so if anyone has any experience with that, I would love to hear from you.  Anyway, ALL GOOD NEWS

roxy38749.7772800926Roxy-What great news! Sounds like you have a good
RD. and I;m glad you get to start back on mtx. I know
it really helps me.

I don't have any experience with vocational therapy,
but i imagine it will be really good. So encouraging
to get such good news.    That's great news, Roxy!

i'm so glad you are doing better!!! i agree on the darovet it dos not make me high or anything just helps with pain!

Thanks guys.  Brett and I are going out for a walk with the dogs today.  First day it hasn't rained in a few.  Now to build my strength back up - little at a time.  I am so excited but baby steps.  I have until April 1 to be ready to go back to work.    My rd said he could see NO inflammation for the first time.  I am down to 3 mg. pred. a day.  AMAZING - THERE IS LIFE AFTER RA.    I think getting out of the snow and cold really helped.Wonderful news Roxy!!
Would it be asking too much to ask you to post a photo of you and Brett?  You are an adorable pair and I am sure that a lot of newbies would love to see one.  Your wedding picture was very nice.  How about it Rox?  This might prompt others to post photos.

Hugs, Justme

You know I love to show off my sweetheart so here is one of our trip to Oregon.  I am having a hard time resizing - sorry.  Still looking for wedding pic.

roxy38750.4646875I still haven't learned how to get them small enough to post reasonably on here.  I use image cave and this seems to be as small as I can get them.  Brett and I were going to get married in Sept. 2005 -Big wedding but when I was diagnosed with RA we had to rush the wedding and have a small wedding so we had his medical insurance.    As it turned out, I am glad it was small, big seems overwhelming now but it has been quite a ride for newlyweds.  I feel very lucky to be so in love and have him as support.    Any tips on resizing would be appreciated.  roxy38750.4687384259

Glad to hear that everything is starting to look upfor you Roxy....

I think what the doctors are talking about is...is sending you to a vocational skills centers, to evaluating your skills and physical abilities, then maybe find you another career or job that the RA will not make it impossible for you to do...also they can send you to school.  As much as you love being a Forrest Ranger.  You may not be able to continue on with being one if the RA progresses any further.

Great pictures and I love to see happy people.  I hope you and Bret will always have and feel great happiness.

Have a wonerful weekend.

OPPS...I forgot to add the link to my last post.

Roxy,

Here is a link to free software for photo editing.  It will help you re-size pictures.

http://www.vicman.net/vcwphoto/photo_f.htm

Look at the right side of the page and in a elongated box you will see a listing, "free download", for this software.  I use it and it works great.

Toni

Thanks Toni.  I will download that software and give it a try.  Brett and I bought a bunch of "for dummies" books to improve our computer skills.

You make a great couple Roxy. Glad to hear your ra appt went well. I don't even know how to post a picture. If I ever have time to figure it out I may put one on. It's kind of fun to see who you are talking with. take care and brett pretty handsome! That's ok to say right? Pat

Pat.  It is flattering.  I will post a pic of him from our first date.  We met on match.com.  Talked for months before we met.  I kept telling him he lived too far away - up in the mountains.  He finally talked me into meeting him- he came down-1.5 hour drive and took me out for Sushi - we ended up going back to the mountains, renting a cabin and spending almost a week together.  He proposed 4 months later and we got married 1 year later.      I had never done anything like that before- I guess it was love at first sight.  My little hottie.  We are soul mates and I had given up on love.  I was 49.

Those pics I posted he hates because he had a belly.  He does physical work for a living so he usually can keep his weight down.  He eats like a HORSE so it has been a real challenge living with him and being on pred and trying to keep MY weight down.

Toni,  My computer won't let me download that program.  It says it does not recognize publisher.  I have photoshop so resized in there.  I have a photoshop for dummies - I need to learn it.
