Well, i didnt notice this before. but, i guess this is where u introduce urself. i had sayd something in a different place, but i'll do an intro here

so im a 13 year old kid, and im a guy if ur wondering.

last April at the end of my april vacation, one night i had my best friend over my house to play. Well, i was complaining at night, of how my ankle hurt alot. when she left it had gotten worse later and it felt like i had broken it. i was limping cuz it was so bad, but i tried hard so my parents wouldnt notice, i didnt wanna worry them.

that sunday i told them and we called my pediatrician doctor, she thought i had the flu, i also had a fever, sore throat, headache and runny nose.

days later i wasnt better, so we went to see the doctor, we kept coming back for the next few days, and at the end of that week they thought i had pnuemonia. they sent me for bloodwork and i didnt have it.

later on i went to the emergency room like a week later, my doctor thought i had kawisaki disease, whatever that is lol. my blood pressure was really high, my heart was beating too fast and i was really sick, so i was there for a while and went home at 10 at night.

i didnt have that disease so later, he made me go to the hospital. what origanally was supposed to be a 24 hour stay, ended up being 6 days. they tested for everything but eventually diagnosed me with systemic JRA. so thats what i had.

now i take prednisone and methotraxate
idk if i spelled it right, i have trouble with the m one.

so thats my intro, there's alot more to the story, but i alread wrote alot

That's rough to have this so young....but you sound like a strong guy; you can do it. It won't always be easy....but you'll adjust.

Glad you found your way to AI. Welcome.
Hey Star,

I just replied to one of your posts before I even introduced my self, and now I see your introduction here.
I just wanted to tell you again that I am really impress about how strong you are and I hope everything will work out great for you.

I'm Lisa-Marie and I just came here because I want to get some info for my friend. He is not in a really good mood at the moment, but i will suggest he to write as well in such forums so that he can be with people that feel like him.

g'day, boy Star  :)  - nothing like being hit ike a hammer with JRA but perhaaps just as well it didn't creep up insidiously - meant u had lots of tests run and the docs got on to it quickly.  I've heard too many sad tales of young folk (and older) who battled for ages to get a decision on just what was wrong with them; and the quicker treatmet is started the better.  No good for joints if u had been fobbed off with "It's just growing pains" or something like that.
Not sure just where u are living but hope u can access all the meds and treatment u require.  More new drugs being discovered all the time so here's hoping u end up with a combo of stuff that works for you!
