Pain relief tips, please? | Arthritis Information

Hi.  I am also an RA sufferer.  I work full time and when I get tired, the pain really gets to the max.  So what I do is take ultram for like up to 2 a day.  It doesn’t totally take the pain away but like the others said, it cuts the edge off pain.  Very manageable.  This gives me time to take care of my little kids.  I would like to know if you know of any methods that can help in a long-term basis.  I do appreciate your suggestions.  Thank you.
The best way is to work with your doctor to get the best  DMARD med cocktail.  Most people are able to be at a level of comfort that does not require pain meds when they get on the right DMARDS for them. I hope you will fit that category. Best of luck to you.Eat healthy, hydrate adequately, rest often, use cold and/or hot packs on tender joints, get some exercise, and as WTBRAF so eloquently stated, work closely with your physician to achieve control and aim for remission.

Best wishes, Shug
I agree w/ the wise words of the experienced, wantto and Spelunker!

Your med cocktail working at maximum will give you the best results in curbing exhaustion and pain.

good luck!!
exercise exercise exercise....take your meds as prescribed...get ahead of the pain by knowing your limits.  Eat healthy, use joint protecting movements, use aids as needed.  Learn to say no and to ask for help when neededAll good advice here!

What really helped me with stiffness and pain was hot showers and ice packs. Frozen baby peas have been my best buddies for months!
