Spoon Theory | Arthritis Information

Several weeks ago I promised to post the Spoon Theory for someone who had started a thread.  I don't remember the thread or who started it but here's a link to the Spoon Theory.  One of the best pieces of writing concerning chronic illness that I've ever read and it's a theory that I try and practice routinely.

I hope that the newbies take it to heart and I hope that others will find encouragement and solace.  The website also is one of my favorites.  Enjoy.  Lindy

Thanks, so much, for sharing this with us!  I read it, several year ago, and couldn't remember where to find it again.  The first time I read it, I also made my husband read it too.  He never forgot it!  Even to this day, he'll ask if I'm low on spoons, when he notices that I'm not up to par.  It really seemed to help him understand just what we go through, every day.  I'm so glad that I finally have it back again!

Thanks!
Renee
Your welcome Renee.  Am glad I poste it.  LindyI enjoyed reading this the first time it came to my notice and still reckon that it one of the best ways to explain how things are with you when suffering from this disease. thanks LinB.
I read this at onset of a major flare when they thought i had Lupus....
My husband read it as well...
He covered an entire page of 8X11 paper w/ spoons and wrote that he would always have spoons to give me whenever I needed more.......  I was so touched...
Very sweet, Babs.  Stan still remembers reading it and comments every once in awhile. Sometimes in a sensitive Stan way and sometimes with a very pointed comment, usually gets my attention, and I realize that my spoons ran out several days ago!  Lindy

same here, LinB...that realization comes WAY after actually using the very last one..

Thank you for posting this! I am sending a copy to everyone who ever called me lazy, didn't believe I was sick or just doesn't get it! Watch out bandwidth!!! NJMarie, glad you like it.  I think it's a good read for the newbies on the forum.  Puts it in some kind of perspective for your friends and relatives.  L
