Ring any bells Jan?
Because my father was the BEST man that ever walked this earth I will add to the thread.

My dad made me feel like I was the best thing on this earth!
He loved me unconditionally. I knew even if I screwed up and made a bad choice he would forgive me & guide me in the right direction.
He would always acknowledge my strengths.
He would never throw my weaknesses  in my face .
He was always there when I needed him.
His family always came first.
He touched many lives with his kindness and generosity.
He taught me those values as well as empathy and compassion.
He took the best of care of my mom when she was recovering from open heart surgery.
He never complained of his own health issues although he suffered from many.
He was a dedicated provider his entire life.
His grandchildren adored him as they felt so loved.
I miss him so much.
I have come to terms with the fact that he is enjoying the rewards of the after- life.
I shall not weep. Enjoy daddy- Happy Father's Day!

oh wantto!!  That 's a wonderful tribute.... and reflecting back at a recent discussion we've had about your children..... the wonderful things your father taught you.... you have in turn passed on and your dad lives on through your sons and daughter!!  *hugs*A few things my dad has taught me:

Respect for firearms; how to shoot various guns and rifles
How to break wind and blame the dog, the spouse, the siblings, etc
The pleasure of a great burp
How to cook truck-stop/diner fare
When to play fair and when to break the rules
Even if your neighbor is a down dirty bastard, there are times when he needs your help and it's your duty and privilege to help him
Love your children unconditionally
Take pride in your work
Find joy pleasure in the everyday wonders around us
Never stop learning or asking questions

I listen to frustrated Amtrak workers, traumatized engineers that have to go on permanent disability after being  traumatized by a  suicide by train.
